Really Nintendo, i'm officially [censored] disappointed and sick of your rehashing [censored] to constantly rape your customers. My intelligence feels insulted at how much this greedy company wants us to buy the same stuff over and over and over because it's thinner and got bigger screens or some [censored] like that. Let's just see the features on this;

Overall size has been reduced -- DSi is 12% or 2.6 millimeters slimmer than the Lite. - I get hand cramps all over playing the DS lite(which is why i kept my DS tank), so why the [censored] reducing it's size EVEN MORE? This crap is just worst than a PSP now, you drop this one time on the ground and it's GONE, IT'S DEAD!

Comes with an external 0.3 Megapixel camera (for 640 x 480 pixel pictures) and a VGA camera located on the hinge, directed towards the user. You'll be able to edit pictures using the touchscreen. - WOW! YOU REALLY MADE AN EFFORT! 0.3 MEGAPIXELS and VGA!!! Nintendo, have you realized that we are in 2008 AND NOT IN 2001(Oh wai-, the Wii is a repackaged 2001 gamecube with a couple of new features, i should have seen this coming all along)?

Full music playback functionality, including adjustable pitch and playback speed.
- At a size this small? I really doubt it will do anything USEFUL, unless you're in a silent room!

Both screens have been expanded to 3.25 inches. - See what i said about the size.

SD memory card slot is included, and there'll be on-board memory also. - So we can buy more of their WiiWare(oops, i meant DSWARE!) rip-offs.

Will ship with an built-in Nintendo DS web browser. - That will only be useful to buy DSWare due to the DS capabilities and missing RAM(A RAM expansion was needed for the Nintendo DS browser).

DSi will allow users to download games from DSWare, a new service that operates with Wii Points -- or, as they are now known, Nintendo Points. - YAY!

Logging onto DSWare for the first time will grant users 1,000 free Nintendo Points. - Because their [censored] DSWare are rip-offs and almost cost them nothing to produce, they can offer this kind of stuff to get you addicted and get you to buy more.

DSWare comes in four pricing categories: free (!), 200 Nintendo Points, 500 Nintendo Points, and 800 Nintendo Points. - I made my point above

Will come in lovely matte white and matte black. Begone, foul fingerprints that have taunted us so!
- Dropping your console on the floor is now deadly, unlike fingerprints.

And finally, it launches on November 1st in Japan, and will cost ¥18,900, or roughly $179. Check out the official site at the "Source" link below! - ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY NINE BUCKS? Are you [censored] kidding me? For the same exact [censored] we've been playing since 4 years ago? Of course, Nintendo will remove all the accessories available for the DS lite and sell them 3x the price on their website.

Also, the GBA slot GOT REMOVED!

I say, keep your DS, go buy a decent flashcart, a 2gig microSD card and stop supporting Nintendo's gigantic corporate cock .

On a different note, Iphone>Nintendo DSi and the Iphone is a piece of [censored] .

-.- Somewhere in Wisconsin, I am crying in frustration that I can't kill the maker of this stupidity. Seriously, why even bother saying "It does 2 extra things" if you're gonna charge an extra $50 (Or whatever). Also, who wants to bets the next thing that comes out is the Super Nintendo DS? I can just see it: "It's new(er), it's got 5 extra features that the other one didn't. I'm selling it to you for only $100 more. Then I'll sell you all these games that'll only work for it at $50 each."

(I almost added another line, but it wouldn't be very nice.)

Quite honestly, I've been waiting for some kind of confirmation on the new model for months.

I've been stuck with the DS I've had ever since the original bulky one came out way back when. The thing still works, but the shoulder buttons are all bleargh, and it... Well, bulky. Friction from taking the stylus out so many times has caused it to not stay in; I flip my DS over and the thing falls out on its own. I had to fashion a method to prevent the stylus from getting lost. The stickers on back are peeling, and it's greatly annoying.

As I said, it works, but I want a new one.

I heard the "no more GBA" slot rumor, and now that it's confirmed, I'm glad. Was there ever a point in having one in the first place? I NEVER used my GBA slot. The way the DS was shaped made playing all my old GBA games very awkward. I couldn't get used to having one screen lit up and the other one dead, as well. Worst of all, NO LINKING. I retained my GBASP, and my friend and I have linked up many many times since we got our DS's. My GBASP works fine, by the way. Even better than my DS, despite having it for longer. There's nothing wrong with it, and it's something I plan on keeping and using over the pointless GBA slot of the DS.

So yeah, need a new DS. I am definitely getting this.

Besides, I'll keep the old one, too. I think having two DS's will be helpful.
Kanji dictionary in one, Disgaia in the other. I can translate mid-battle! =D

Meh, I'm indifferent but if I were them I'd probably do the same thing.

I mean all of their electronics are hugely popular, so you may as well make more kinds for more money right? it's the same thing apple does with their ipods... there is only like 931779815376 different versions of those.

Personally if I was looking for a multimedia device I'd probably check into it. Its cheaper than an Iphone monthly and (probably) straight up and I don't really have any PSP games.

But to each their own I guess :?

Oh god Why did they make this abomination?
No GBA slot. Did they forget the accessories that needed it ?
A Very tiny camera, internet,SMALLER SIZE?!, and the fact that its just the same thing that was made 4 YEARS AGO (couldn't they have put this towards the next DS?) Not to mention all the defects that the thing most likely will have.
oh god its the micro all over again.

Nintendo iPod...Helloooo...DSi. iPod. Duh. They're trying to go for the whole iPod market here with the built-in music player, removable storage, games, etc. Sad thing is, that market will probably love this to death.

Also, I'll buy it if it has 802.11g instead of 802.11b for Wi-Fi. Anything else? Nooooo.

I'll buy it if it means I can play Super Metroid and the other games I like that are in the library. I don't play very many DS games and none of the ones I do play require the GBA slot. If I want to play GBA games I have a GBA which can also play GB games so that doesn't affect me any. Maybe it's my slender lady-hands but I don't get hand cramps from holding the system, either. Maybe you're just doing something wrong.

As i said, Iphone>DSi

Just putting the Ipod in this comparison would be insulting it's good overall design.

i don't get hand cramps while playing my DS tank(phat) and i use a big stylus, but the DS lite is waayyy too small for my hands and not comfortable.

And they didn't even confirm what was on the DS/WiiWare, thing is, it's unable to play SNES emulators correctly on flashcarts.

hmm I might buy this if I really wanted to have downloadable content on the DS or somehow compress the megaman 9 game on to an SD card and play that on the DS. and the new SD card slot is literally asking for hackers to hack the DSI so they can play pirated games and other homebrew crap you can get on the internet. but other then that I was expecting a totally new and original handheld device that has the power of a gamecube (or better) oh well I guess I will have to wait 2 years for that thing to come out.

Hmm... I like my tank. I was forced to replace it (if you drop one JUST RIGHT you can shatter a joint) and I replaced it with a used tank. It was practically new, the guy obviously never used it. I liked that old thing. Paint worn off, not a sticker in sight on the back, and a new stylus everytime the old one tried to fall out. (THAT'S how you solve the problem Fooby. It's the stylus, not the DS (for the most part))

I'll buy one of these if I ever need to replace my tank, and they don't have any used ones close enough. Unless they start making downloadable Pokemon content for that thing alone. I might just be forced to get it.

And the GBA slot serves a purpose. You can get your old Pokemon off of it for Diamond/Pearl. If you have the predecessors to whatever game you're playing, you can get a nice bonus. And Guitar Hero for DS uses the slot for their controls. This not having them removes a few games from the library, and removes many bonuses from older games.

What pisses me off is that DSs haven't dropped in price at all. They're still charging the same for DS lites as when they first came out. And they stopped making tanks! The [censored]! They even stopped selling the stuff for the tank (ie styluses). It pisses me off that they abandoned the people that bought the thing EARLY when they came out with the new one. *sigh* Nintendo used to be so much better...

Well, I never bought a DS before, so maybe I can consider buying this... IDK
