Wow. Just wow. I thought i would never see the day. Does this spell doom for the ps3? I mean final fantasy on the xbox for the first time...ever. Wow.

Well that's it. I'm trading my ps3 for an xbox 360.
Sony really [censored] itself up by not buying exclusive rights.

ive been fighting over whether to get a ps3 or an xbox 360, but this may seal the deal for me. still keeping my eyes open however...

There was actually a rumour, a year ago,saying that ff 13 would jump to 360. i didn't actually took it seriously but now...let's just say i was lucky enough to pick the 360 over the ps3. My friend is going to piss his pants after i tell him. He's a loyal fan to both ff and ps3. I have to see his reaction. He was pissed when dmc 4 went to the 360 or the dark side as he likes to call it.

I could careless about ff13 going to 360 mainly cause majority of the people were disappointed with ff12 due to it having a fake MMO style of gameplay. they will not go back to the same style ff1-10X2 that had the random encounters or the turn based strategy which made FF the way it was years ago. so I would not be surprised if people dislike ff13 as well. besides I am sticking with the ps3 because of exclusives I care about like resistance II, LBP, GoW III, and disgaea III. If for some reason you disliked FF12 or felt like it was boring because you wish it was like FF10 you will immediately dislike FF13 and any game forward that keeps up the pattern. I honestly have no Idea what can SE do to please the xboxs fanboys who disliked FF12 because in my opinion FF12 was a great game because it was something new and different at the time and the graphics literally surpassed the ps2 limits because honestly I believe that anyone who hated FF12 for that purpose should just simply get over it and enjoy the new style in terms of gameplay and if you don't like it stop buying the current generation of Finalfantasys because SE will not go back to the style. and also I believe threads like this that keep exclaiming that this is Sonys fault or Sony fails should just ultimately stop playing games because FF13 is not a big deal because SE was always a multiplatform system so it is most obvious FF13 would come to the 360 in America and Europe (but not Japan because they already bought a ps3 for FF13 and still dislike the xbox due to its past mistakes.) and also other threads who say that FF13 is sonys trump card or last hope should also consider this. Finalfantasy was huge when FF7-FF10 came out but some of the new gameplay lessen the hype on the FF11-FF12 however games that stayed with the successful gameplay like COD4 remained successful because they sticked with the same style of gameplay but improved other things like enriching the graphics and sound quality to make it seem more physically intense while SE will take a different approach by creating a brand new type of gameplay (either that or take an already existing gameplay and add so many new things it over complicates things) to see if people like it and if they don't they try to make the main character the most important thing to pull you into the storyline so that way your forced to play the new style of gameplay.

but to make it short and simple all I am saying is just please don't treat FF13 like its a big deal and enjoy the game and if you don't like the new style of gameplay go play with something else like the upcoming Soulcaliber IV or Gears of war II because its practically sticks to the same formula in the first game that made the first game so successful.

oh and if your curious as to where I got most of the info its all from GameFAQs because they constantly whine because of the things i mentioned above. I am not mad that FF13 is going to the xbox because I am glad that my friends can enjoy it. however they better enjoy it or else.

Why? Because they don't have exclusive rights to FF13... Look at it this way. They have been working on this game for what... 3 years exclusivly on Sony's hardware. What this means is the distinct chance that it won't run on 360 as well as it will on PS3, somethignt hat happened with GTAIV.

PLus, I'm not sure about this, I'll have to check, but I don't think the xbox 360 is geting FF 13 Versus which looks like more fun anyway.

At the end of the day, exclusives are dying out, most are multi platform because it generates more cash for the companies making the game. People are going to buy whatever system they want, I don't think FF13 converting is going to change peoples mind. I chosse the PS3 because I've been with sony's hardware fromt he start, it has a Blu Ray player, it has a controller that doesn't look like it should come in a duplo box, and it isn't made my Bill Gates.

well its kinda hard to summarize my wall of text because its for multiple people. Like if your a person who disliked FF12 I am basically saying get over it and enjoy the new style of gameplay because FF13 is going to do the same thing FF12 in terms of changing the style of gameplay. or if your an ps3 guy who is actually going to sell a ps3 because of FF13 there are still exclusives out there the 360 will most not get. or if your an xbox fanboy thinking its all over for sony because of 1 game think again.

and by reading by what you have posted by repeating Shrodinger said you fall under the "ps3 is screwed" category and my wall of text literally says "no it is far from doomed because there still are many exclusives like Resistence II, Little big planet, disgaea III, Kingdom hearts III, Metal gear solid 4, Socom and the ps3 has free online service so you can play more games online." or you could also fall under the "Xbox fanboy" which all I am saying is enjoy the game and please be quiet its not a big deal everyone is making it is and the ps3 is far from doomed based on the line of exclusives I mentioned above.

oh and another category you could fall under is "Sony is doomed I am selling my ps3 to get a 360." and I could repeat the line of exclusives and the free online play again. but there are also some other things to consider about the 360 that has prevented me from getting one because of its expensive price if you tried to make a 360 = a ps3

In order to make your 360= a ps3 you first need to get either the 300 Dollar 20 GB version and buy a memory expansion which costs 100 dollars each to increase it by 20 GB each which would increase the price to 600 dollars to have an 80 GB 360 oh and since the 360 pro does not have a built in wireless adapter you will have to pay another 90-120 dollars and thats not all they actually charge you for their online service 50 dollars a year after your first month and 1 game of either gears of war or halo 3 both 40 bucks. and your already looking at an xbox that costs roughly 850 bucks. or you could buy the xbox elite with 120 GB for 450 dollars but you still need the wireless adapter and also still have to pay membership and also buy a game for it which would make it above 600 dollars and it still does not have a blue ray player yet and who knows how much they are going to cost. while the ps3 80 GB metal gear solid 4 covers all that for just 500 bucks. and there is the scary thought of the RROD which effects all 360's and I heard that they don't fix the problem instead they give you a refurbished 360 that use to have the RROD but they opened it up and re sadder it so that it lasts for a couple more months and slap your 360 memory into it.

unless your like yahtzee from Zero punctuation who does not care about online play, blue ray disk drives, extra memory, and also does not play it due to the fact it might brake and there by buy a new one the xbox 360 is more expensive then most people think. I only hope they fix this problem on the next xbox.

I want to know whose idea it was to put the thumbsticks on skewed. At least the PS3 controller manages some semblance of symmetry. Oh, and FFXIII being cross-platform in no way 'dooms' the PS3; PS3 still has the better exclusives on the horizon, and it's at least reliable. Let's face it; Microsoft is only in business because people don't realize that there are better products available and probably never will.

I believe it's stupid to talk about consoles.
I don't get why people get so riled up about this, it isn't the console people enjoy, it's the games on it, and the hardware cannot inherently make a game better.
So for the example of FFXIII, why not just play it on what you have, now it's easier to.
