Has anyone bought the expansion packs? Especially Dunwhich and Kingsport. I mean, the board is big enough isn't it? Do these expansions add that much more depth to the game?

No...Though that reminds me to bug my friend who owns the game about buying them.

I do have some friends who have the expansions, and they claim that it makes the game much more challenging, at least partly by introducing a lot of items and other cards which aren't incredibly useful (IIRC). I haven't played it with them though.

WHAT!? The game is hard enough! Seriously its the game for masochists... My friends and I have played it through like half a dozen times, and we haven't won once. The one time we would have, we never finished.

I saw that in a store, should I buy it? Whats it like? I like Lovecraft's stories, and loved Call of Cthulu: Dark corners of the earth.

My new friend! Its actually a lot of fun. I own a couple good board games, and it has to be my favorite. Its WICKED hard though. Its a co-op survival. The same as the books. You're a group of people trying to stop said god from coming to our plane of existence. If you win you add up all the points, if you fail... well then the fight of your life ensues... Unless you get Azathoth... then he destroys the world! :twisted: :twisted: It takes a while to play, especially if you have the one guy that likes to plan everything out. Oh... and make sure you have a BIIIG table. Lotsa small pieces in lotsa piles.
