GO HERE NOW OR DIE!!

FINALLY they announced Diablo III! And they're not going to rip off World of Warcraft or Guild Wars either! They're going to keep the top-down point of view but with new features, better graphics... hell yeah, this is definitely going to need a few years to satisfy this old addiction.

That's like an orgasm just waiting to happen. Unfortunately, It'll probably be in development till 2010...

Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but knowing Blizzard, It'll definitely be worth any wait.

It's been in development for a good many years already, from what I've known. They've just gotten to the point where they can announce it's near-readiness.

MUST. FIND. RELEASE DATE.

They won't give a solid date. They never do. In fact I can reasonably quote them as saying: "It'll be released when it's ready," some time in the near future.
[...]
And then repeatedly thereafter, because people never seem to take the hint.

They had an interview with IGN ([censored]!) today and the fellow they talked to was asked why they would announce the game without a hint of a release date. The fellow explained that as a rule, they don't announce a game until they're about a year or year and a half away from it being put on shelves. Hopefully that'll be a decent indicator?

Surely you and I can't be the only ones on this forum to be excited about this. Maybe I need to wait a while. Anyhow, perhaps I can stimulate some sort of discussion before I go to sleep. I don't really care for the two classes so far (though I do approve of the ability to choose their sex).

The barb' is a classic, and I'm sure people will be happy to have them back, but I never really cared for the barbarian. The witchdoctor is just kinda... meh, in my books; not bad, but nothing really interesting.

Also, I hope they make this one less utterly-reliant on equipment in higher difficulties like DII seems to be. I say they should make rare items capable of being better than unique or set items and make them rarer (and maybe switch the names 'unique' and 'rare' because in all honesty, the rare items were unique, and the unique items were rare).

I'm ready to quit playing WoW the moment it comes out.

All I have to say about this is
I WANT IT TO BE RELEASED NOW SO I CAN PLAY IT.

And also Barbarians are totally kick arse as a class.

Plus DII was a bit too easy on all difficulties for me...

The only problem I had with Diablo II was the fact that you only got around 7-10 people on a server, and half the time you would join them long after they finished the quest you were stuck on.

That, and I really do hope the loot system changes to a need/greed basis like WoW has. I didn't much care for it when your teammates would gobble up the drops as soon as they would hit the ground, usually taking any decent upgrades you would need without discretion.

That and gold was useless.

CMON BLIZZARD!! YOU CAN DEW IT!! XD

Oh yeah, and Witch Doctor seems to be more of a support class than anything else. Maybe that's they're replacement for a necromancer?

A server could only hold 8 players. And gold wasn't useless. I used gold to buy a lot of unique and rune-word weapons and armor.

on the upside:
the engines (graphics, physics, and that other one) are finished
they are plugging in classes!
world and level look complete like!

that's a good sign!

edit: and because it's my first post, HI everyone, nice to finally like... say something to all of you after I've been reading like... a years worth of your posts... I'll try and stop using too many ellipsis...

8 players plus you, for a total of nine, actually. At least, I think that's how it is. I stockpiled gold to use for gambling. I have a gambling problem.

Bah! WoW is crap compared to Diablo.
