Out of boredom and curiosity, I'm reinstalling UT2004 to see what the graphics look like and whether or not any new maps/players have emerged. I used to love this game until it became some clan-dominated, grudgematch. Too many people named ~)OMG(~*lol*][roflmasterXxX]

:P I'm ready for disappointment, but I also feel the need to camp with a tank.

*lol* I jumped on a server today, and I was immediately asked if I was ~)KD(~Ace_of_Spades. Apparently when I logged in yesterday, an old admin friend of mine saw my GUID and saw my old names (I used to admin for MPUK). So much for hiding, but glad to hear UT3 flopped!

flopped? i didn't think it was too bad i think its just because '04 became such a big name that everyone has it and when you have a great game that already has tons of people on the servers people aren't gonna switch over to fast just for some new maps and flashier graphics

Heh, tell that to the psychos who spend $3000 on new systems in preparation for UT3! XD AlienWare made a haul off them.

Servers are still *kind* of populated for assault racing, but not as much as I remember. Might end up looking for another game shortly.

XD

Well, looks like I'm done with UT2k4! The maps quickly became boring, the players are pretty much gone, and half the servers are filled with bots. But heck, it was entertaining.

I ran into a guy today that I banned last year from a server I used to admin, lol, and the guy was still pissed about it! How sad is that when you spend a year festering over a video game?

I very delicately told him that I had spent about an hour making up a fake reason for his ban, all the admins laughed at him, and that I admined only for the fact that I could totally powertrip out on people and boot them left and right at random. He proceeded to go ballistic, and I hopped on off the game, :)

I don't need that sort of drama, so I think I'll go and invest in TF2 now. [/list]

I finished downloading and since I didn't want to get stuck in 3 hours of gameplay at this hour, I just farted around with Gary's Mod, which is just too much fun.

There's something very satisfying with driving your Mustang into a carefully stacked mountain of propane tanks, XD

Its a complete sandbox, you can pose rag dolls to make comedic or awesome scenes (I had a combine vs rebel shootout scene frozen that was pretty awesome. That was back when Gmod was free :/ You can still get v9 for free, but I can't find additional files for it). You can also build stuff and people have separate mini-games in it. I made an awesome lift and thruster powered car/boat once. There's a freeze tag game variant (uses the bolt gun, think quake 3 railgun freeze tag) and a hide and seek variant.
