There's going to be a lot changing by way of the game mechanics, including the dynamic surroundings. Rather than maneuvering around half-demolished walls or wreckage, you can use your attacks to destroy this stuff and kill enemies with it. It's not going to be as graphically intense as Crysis, but I think there's something to be said about a game that has the balls to say they don't need the massive engine updates.

If Diablo III would've been styled after WoW or EverQuest, I would have been worried.

Why have I just heard about this?! But, it's not like it matters. It's not going to come out for years. Neither is Starcraft II.. But that gives me time to buy a new computer, cause they certainly won't run on the one I have now.

It does look awesome though.

I don't think that this is going to require any major upgrades, which is fantastic news I think. It gets a little rediculous when people feel forced to shell out a thousand bucks every time a new game releases. UT3, I'm looking at you.

:) One upgrade every 5 years. That's my rule!

UT3 Worked on my PC, and it only had 2 Gigs of RAM, a 2.2 GHz processor, and an nVidia GeForce 7600 GS.

Nothing high powered or anything.

Not true!!

http://2kinds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t ... sc&start=9

Just built that rig for myself at just over $1,600. Subtract the monitor (22" $300) and it only runs you $1,300 plus roughly fifteen bucks on shipping.

- AMD 6600+ 2x Core 3.0GHz Processor
- EVGA GeForce 9600GT 1.0GB Graphics Card
- 4GB Corsair RAM
- ASUS SATA Gigabyte Motherboard with shiny copper tube thingies (I don't know!!)
- PC Power & Cooling 750-watt power source
- Samsung 500GB HDD
- Antec 900 Mid-Size case w/ 4x 120mm & 1x 200mm vents (huge airflow)
- Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
~ 5 hours to build (first ever build for me)

You'd be surprised how easily you can budget out a loan, too. I have a loan out to my bank that requires me to pay about $120 a month, but I'm getting this paid off by the end of August so I can take out *another* loan of tuition.

If you do get in the market for a new computer, build one. It may look intimidating, but if you've ever opened your case to clean things out, maybe install a couple small parts, it's surprisingly simple. And about $1,000 - 3,000 cheaper. This rig that I built was priced at just under $3,500 at Dell (matching the specs, not the parts). If you're buying a pre-built system, you're paying the company a good 200% markup to have a machine plug in your parts.

Built it, and become an honorary geek!

My comp is rather old, but it still pwns; considering it can play bioshock on high settings its good enough for me. I have an older motherboard that companies don't make parts for anymore. Since all my hardware works for this one it means in order to upgrade it I need to buy a whole new comp. I plan on spending a lot of money on a brand new one in 2009 so yay.

As long as I can play some of the newer games like Starcraft II then I am good until Diablo III comes out. I would assume it will come out in 2010 because starcraft I spent several years in development, I believe. Either way viva la Blizzard! loi

Ew, don't blow your load on some built-in-the-factory junker! You can get an arguably best-computer-out-there for the prices they charge for these mediocre systems.

BUILD IT!!!!

Hope that wasn't to me. I don't really on all these company made computers and what not. I buy each piece alone, just certain circumstances prevent me from upgrading easily.

Were you playing open battle.net? Don't do that. Thats very bad. I usually play in passworded games by myself or with real life friends.
