My grandfather passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at around 1:00 a.m.. I was a state away at collage. At least I got to speak with him over the phone at the hospital a few hours before he passed. I have gone home to deal with things.

I'm sorry for your loss as well--my grandmother died about a month ago.

I didn't get to speak with her or see her before it happened, as she didn't live in the same state....

Hang in there....

I'm not really good with these things, but I'll say something anyways. He lived his life well and that's all that matters.

The shorter the life, the greater the glory. -Marie-Antoine Carême

A little culinary quote from the father of fine cuisine as we know it. The younger you die the better image you leave in your wake, the older you die the less impact it makes on the lives of others. He died before age 50.

I lost my grandfather a number of years ago. I know how you must feel. My condolences to you and your family.

i lost my pop (grandfather) recently as well, died of lung cancer in the spring. the trauma caused me to miss a week of classes at college. but you know what, i couldn't care less about that. my Grandpa was sick and needed the support of the ENTIRE family, and that's what he got.

of course after the funeral i lost focus on my classwork, and wound up failing the semester.

My condelences. I can not say that I know how you feel. Nearly, but not completely. Hang in there, and remember: Take your time to mourn him. He deserves it.

My sympathy, and my empathy. I know how it feels to have someone close to you die, and it is not pleasant. He is in a better place now, and be sure he is smiling down on you.

fixed that for you MOG, you can thank me later.

but yeah, hopefully you'll make a quick recovery from this. it's hard to lose someone, and not shut down from it. it took me quite some time to recover from the loss, and now one of my grandma's friends is suffering from the same illness. i dont know why my family is going through so much trauma, i think we're cursed or something.
