Have you ever tried to go out with someone, and they gave you the line.
"I'm sorry I just can't. Its not you, its me."
This is a thread for Shot Down lines.
Try to come up with them, or tell ones you have heard yourself.

Erhem, my 'partner' broke up with me because I was moving, not only that, they had a crush on someone else. >_>

"I'm sorry, but I think it's best if we.."
"Break up? I understand, I'm moving away, I already know you like someone else."
"What? Wha-No! I mean... >>;;"

I laughed.

Best one liner I've got to shoot someone down is - "I'm not gay, but I'll learn."

One of my best shoot downers; "Hey, you want to go out on a date?"
"Ok, I know I'm Bi-sexual but i'm not your type."

The mention of Bi-sexuality usually wards em off.

I've never gotten the nerves to ask someone out...
How many of these lines have actually been used, anyway? >_>

They don't even have to be used solely for someone asking you out. Light flirting is enough. I used mine once and only once.

Really, don't flirt until ya know em, or you like them and they like you.

@_@

I went on a date, nothing to do. awkward silences kill me.

"You do know I'm a crossdresser right?"

That one makes them shift slowly away.

Oh this is going to get darkly comical, XD. Let's see if I can remember this verbatim...

"Hold on, you think I'm queer?"
"Uh... not any more."

This is my one good pick-up line. Use it wisely:

How much does a polar bear weigh?

(pause)

Enough to break the ice. Hi, my name is _________.

It usually gets a laugh. Not sure if it's at the joke or at me, but either works. It's just so stupid, you can't help but chuckle.

Pick-up line...hmmm...

"How much pretty/cute can you put on a girl/boy to make them Beautiful/Handsome? Because I think (afore mentioned) should be your middle name.."

Corn-chips anyone?
