So, we got our first summer storm this evening. It was an electrical storm, lots of lightning and thunder. It didn't get close enough to my neighborhood to mess with our power, so I'm happy about that. Got pretty frighteningly close to some trees near out hood though, scared me spitless for a while. I loathe electrical storms.

See, now that's the APPROPRIATE response to thunderstorms, not LOVING them....

Sorry--run into too many people online who felt the latter way about them, something of which my mind is incapable of comprehending....

I was just chilling in my living room in front of the picture window, watching the storm and playing WoW. It was EPIC.

I'm one of those twisted souls who loves thunderstorms...
X3

Having grown up with them (at least one a day during the summer), I guess one loses the fear...now I miss them...only had one tiny, 15-minute one the entire two years I've been here...

I don't know what the natural explaination behind this is, but there are actually a lot of people who like storms. Including me.

I love thunderstorms.

I pull my car out of the garage, set up a chair, and get a soda.

Then I just watch.

I live in Kansas, and tornados barely freak me out, so why would I be scared of a thunderstorm?

I like weather. Everything but sunny.

We had storms all last week. Luckily, they were all offshore, which made for excellent surfing conditions all week.

I love storms. My favorite's when I'm at home with the power out in the midst of a hurricane. It's so relaxing to just lie down, listening to the wind blowing.

Storms for the win! They're too fun to watch to hate.

I've always liked stormy weather, especially out on the open road. We used to have relatives in Los Angeles, and from here, it's a 1,400 mile trip on I-10 across the desert. We ALWAYS hit a thunder/lightning megastorm in Arizona, and it used to excite the hell outta me. But heck, even if it's just really cloudy, I'm happy. I guess a cloud cover makes the world seem smaller, and me more significant?

In any case, I fully intend on going north to videotape tornadoes before college, or during the summers in between. I was Twister when I was 5, and have been totally enthralled by the things ever since...

Huh... I guess that was a little off topic, sorry... =^.^=

Lightning struck my friends house about a week ago, He needed all new siding because most of it blew off, and all his TV's fried, and his home computer, and his Wii, but not his xbox360 :p

fortunatly insurance covered it all.

At least his 360 made it. Which is the only thing that matters

Yeah, thunderstorms kinda loose some of their fright capacity when you've grown up with them.

Last good Hurricane we had, I slept like a baby through it.

ONly lost power for 8 hours. Didn't even lose any frozen goods.
