It's weird, but apparently I can't go to any site but Twokinds and AnaKuro. It's kinda weirding me out. I've tried quitting Firefox and re-opening it, but it still doesn't work. I'm not gonna try restarting my computer because if I'm gonna do that, I might as well just shut it off and go to sleep. I don't really know the point of this other than to point out how it's odd that I have access to two sites only, and I can't go anywhere else.

I guess you guys can post any weird-internet things you've got if you want.

My site died
The server must be down. It'll probably come back up in a bit, but I was in the middle of a post T_T

I have no idea what's up with yours, though. Hopefully it'll be fixed with a restart.

-EDIT- Never mind, it's back. That was quick, but for a moment I felt your pain ^^'

It's back up for me. I used my internet healing powers on it.

Or maybe I just got lucky.

I'm going to predict that Sable's computer will work in the morning. My senses say the DNS server Sable uses went down.

My favorite weirdness right now is that I can't get email from the AnaKuro forum. :?

I should be able to come up with some good ones, having declared myself to be the Networks and Systems Office at work, but at this hour, I've got nothing.

Don't have any. Never had the need for a junk mail filter on my good email, so I don't have one. At least not one I put there. I won't be able to know more until I switch email over to a server under my own control. At this point, I'll probably switch it to my work email, and set that up to forward messages from the forum to my personal email. Then, if there's problems at least I've got a log file I can check.

@ Sable: Well, if you can only visit 2 sites, which 2 would you rather be able to access? =^.^=

Naturally, it works now. I wasn't really concerned.
And I think I could only go to those two sites because I had them open on separate tabs when the internet went wonky. I have no idea why it would work that way, but that's my theory.

And it's funny that Ana's site went down about the time I left. Clearly I am the cornerstone of this operation, as I have an empathic relationship with the website. Yes. That is definitely true.

Makes complete sense to me. If what I thought happened is true, then that's absolutely the case.

Now to extend your grasp to other websites. :D

Turns out that there's a major DNS system update that's being done by all the major players in the DNS game this month to reduce some vulnerabilities. I'd expect a lot of temporary issues where you suddenly can't go anywhere but a couple websites until all the ISPs get the patches applied.

How about all the IRS IOU's that are coming IAM? Oh, and BTW, FCS's are going cheap at DPS down on MAR.

Sorry, I felt an overload of 3-letter abbreviations in your post. 2 is the limit, IMO. =^.^=

Anyways, just 'cause I'm a noob, what's DNS? Some kind of hip-hop group? Yeah, that sounded funnier in my head...

That's Run DMC. :P

DNS is Domain Name Service. It's what translates the domain name (2kinds.com) to an IP address (72.41.153.3). If the server you get your translations from is down, then your computer might not be able to find other computers on the Internet. If it's got the address saved (in this case, we're talking about caching, or temporarily storing it for performance reasons), then you can still get there until your computer decides it should check again.
