Please, please don't keep reading if you are not in the mood to get pissed off.

If you didn't already know, Jack Chick is an insanely Christian man that makes Christian comics about how parts of our society are satanic and evil and wrong and ect. In short, the mans insane and I created this thread to discuss the insanity of this man.
First Part: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp

This ones about DnD. Now, this both angers me and makes me laugh. It makes me laugh because of how stupid and ignorant some people seem to be about DnD. Also, it is the belief that anybody would be stupid enough to kill themselves over their characters death. Also, it really isn't a cult.

But what angers me is the idea that actual magic is taught after you hit 8th level. What makes me mad about this is, I now feel gypped! I've hit 8th level! Where's my magic spells secret cult of DnD! I want some spells!

Now this is where people will start to get pissed. Please, please don't read this unless you want to.

Huuuhhh.... I don't even know where to begin about how wrong and hateful this is...

And the truly idiotic thing is, I have a friend who us to read the bible, and he had never seen any of these passages, and in some cases said there wasn't even a part of the bible like that

Yeeaeh, it appears Jack knows Jack about Dungeons and Dragons, or what it is to be homosexual.

Darn, I gotta tell my friends they should be dead already.

Jack Chick is the equivelent of a train wreck. You might want to turn away, but you just can't.

Though I'm going to have to say, the DM in Dark Dungeons is harsh. Dead without a saving throw? Harsh man. :P

Many people have twisted the Bible beyond the word of God and into one of the nastiest weapons in the history of history.
Some people remain true to the true word of God.
When confronted by people who take religion to far (Extremists) people like me sit on the sidelines and say 'I'm glad thats not me'.
I have worked out all the answers I need and do not believe in God because I don't want to but when people tell me I am going to hell because I don't believe in God I laugh with an amused tone, shake my head and walk away.

Well there's a toy shop owner that refuses to sell Harry Potter toys because they encourage satanic behavior and what not.

I was laughing very hard, but I didn't feel pissed off.

This is why there are so many sects of Christianity. Some Christians are filled with incredible amounts of hate at various things and people, and point to the bible as to why they should obviously hate them. Other Christians are full of nothing but love and good-will towards everybody and point to the bible as to why they should obviously love them.

There's also Christians who firmly believe that Earth is 5000 years old, because the bible can be translated to mean that. Some Christians also believe dinosaurs and man lived together - and there are even Christian funded museums displaying that stuff.

But other religions are like that too. There's loving Muslims, and hateful Muslims. Loving Jewish people and hateful Jewish people. About the only religion I can think of that seeks to eradicate negative will in every way, physical and mental, is Buddhism. Too bad according to most Christians they're going to hell, huh?

When you see stuff like that, don't feel ill-will towards the religion. Just feel sorry for the poor sap who believes in that stuff, because his life is going to be filled with hate and conflict until the day he dies.

At least I get paid to deal with hate and conflict. I can't imagine what it's like to do it for free.

There were also people trying to get Harry Potter removed from school librarys for just that reason.

Unfortunately, idiots breed, too. Humanity comprises a huge range of factions and behaviors, most of it incomprehenisble even to each other.

That, I think, sums up everything nicely, doesn't it?

I'll have to look up some of those referances, see where he got them (since taking things out of context is the best way to twist the bible..)

Actually recognised a few off the top of my head (Leviticus 18:22 although the ones out of Corinthians doesn't ring a bell)

But yeah, it's wackjobs like this guy that give the rest of Christianity a bad name- I'll not say more before I get so pissed off I can't type straight.

What about the Vietnam war?
That was just America's fear of communism.
