What do you want to do when you grow up? =3

Realistically, none of this "LULZ LOTTERY" stuff! What do you really want to see yourself.

Me, I plan on getting out of the Army, just not for me, And attending free college for a little bit, getting a degree in Information Technology (probably online) and perusing a career in that, its always something i loved working on since i was little and still do today! Heck, just about a few hours ago I re-soldered a gateway laptop power button and replaced the spindle on a hard drive. I like working with my hands and such =)

(ask Tom about that one, at one point these very forums were being run out of a cardboard box!)

I would like a nice but smaller home, enough money to have some play time, but not much more.

Relationship wise, I'm just one of those guys who likes stability and appreciate whats there now, even though I always strive to get better.

Someone who is intelligent and can think for themselves, and act on there feet. And I would like to have kids, 1 or 2, any more and I don't think I could handle that much.

Hrm. Well, I suppose technically I am "grown up," college degree and career and all. ;) But there's still the goals. House in seven years, debt free before that. (I cannot wait until I own my own home. There's so much I want to do.) It'd be nice to be married by then, but so far things aren't that promising. I used to have much more exciting dreams, but I'm boring now -- a wife, a couple kids, a decent house. Well, boring apart from one thing: There's a strong streak of entrepreneurship in my family, so I think I'm going to try my hand at my own business eventually.

Ah, dreams. I have quite a few.

I'd like to design and then have built, my own house. in Hawai'i in a green, lush area on a mountain with a nice view, or near the coastline. Have a nice-sized garden to grow flowers in, with a section for homegrown veggies and spices. It'd be a mix of styles I like, with plenty of room, with a huge basement, master bedroom and master bathroom, with a room-size walk-in shower. The walls of the bedroom would be a light lilac. I'd have a garage with a Mini Cooper, Nissan 350z, and/or Toyota Prius/some other hybrid. The house would have solar panels of course.

I want to travel around the world. Backpack with a dear friend or partner across Europe. Do relief or missionary work in Africa. Perhaps live in Japan for a little while.

I want someone special to share my life with. No kids... I'm not a good father.

I'd love to have a nice career, or run my own successful small business. I'd be a published, but not famous, author.

Grandiose dreams, undoubtedly, but I'd settle for a simple, quiet life that's fulfilling in its own way. Sadly, that dream seems the least likely...

I plan to follow my father's example of education: baccalaureate, master's, fellowship, then another master's (in my dad's case, DDS). After that, I plan to go into ethology, either as a researcher or as a behavioral consultant for video game makers, though training monkeys for working with the disabled and giving lectures at a university are also on the menu. After a while, I plan on going into politics on the strength of my liberal arts education, eventually making it into D.C., as a presidential appointee if I can't get elected due to my lacking people skills. So, like Reagan, I'll go from working with monkeys to working with Republicans (though I plan to have an economic policy that actually works).

Well, first I want to finish my degree. I plan to get a BS or MS in Ceramics and Materials engineering with a minor in physics. I hope this will give me enough knowledge to start into a nanotechnology business (what is it with engineers and technology?)

And within 10-15 years, I hope to finish a little project of mine. Myself and two friends once took a (high school) senior level engineering course. It was the 7th and final course in the curriculum for us. We were going to enter a certain competition, the rules of which were very broad- create something that can be used in the next twenty years.

Anyway, we spent hundreds of combined hours designing (and eventually getting a legal patent on) a new form of kidney dialysis using nanotechnology. Entered into the completion, and ended up taking 1st in the nation (/gloat). Anyway, that patent remains unused, and I want to get it to a point where I can manufacture it. But I'll need some sort of entrepreneur for that...Here's the idea, in case you were curious.

Besides that, I want to own a Lotus Esige S 240, and someday a house. Do some mission work for a couple months, get married, etc.

'side from that, nothing that will likely come aorund in my lifetime...

Dude! That's awesome! If you can get a working prototype, you'd probably be able to shop your patent around to a company like, say, pfizer.

I envy many of you your youth...
XD

Well...I'm already grown-up...been grown-up for quite a while...didn't plan it very well, so the ol' hopes and dreams kind've dried up and blew away, so...

At this point, I'd just like to break even.
<<;

(Totally not kidding - I can't express how serious I am about this.)

Well, I got a 2-3 more years of college left to get my BS and finish up my major in mechanical engineering. Then get a job in aeronautics or airplane design. Hopefully find a special someone to spend the rest of my life with and have a family =^_^=... and probably get out of Hawaii... start up my own Machine Shop, get my own piloting license, and retire... plain and simple...

Breaking even sounds good, Tuna. Not too far behind in the "already grown up catagory" -- 33 with three kids already? yep, definitely not a kid anymore. I'd simply like to get my master's finished, get a steady teaching gig, and get a house out someplace like where I grew up.

What are my goals? (scratches head in thought)

Man...I guess I am somewhat undecided on what I want to do.

At first I wanted to be a veterinarian. I used to work at a vet clinic, and I loved working with the animals. When I went to college though, I began to realize that biology was just not for me. I guess you can say, I learned that I focused too much attention on how cute puppies and kittens were rather on amoebas, cells, etc.

I am now going with a History Major, and perhaps a major or minor in creative writing. In Highschool I loved my history classes and I love the history channel. So I am giving that a shot now. Though, what I will do with those majors...I don't know. I have alot of things on my "to do list", but all of them head in different directions.

I do have two goals (besides having a good family of course), as simple as they sound. The first is actaully to get an article published in National Geographic. I love the magazine :) . Another goal (I actually got this from a dream I had), is to walk into a barnes and noble, borbers, or any other books store, and see a book I wrote on display. I pick up the book flip through, read the foreword (if any), the back, and the "About The Author". Whenever I get a book, one of the things I do is to read "About The Author," to get an idea exactly who read this book.

If Gods are real, ascend to God/Daemonhood. Demi-God is a fine sacrifice if I cannot reach the above.

Otherwise, in real term events that I can actually plan for, I intend to get into a nice college (Likely Towson University or UB), get into a computer program, get a nice paying job, set some money aside, live a comfortable life, retire at a good age, keep myself fit, and die happy and while fething half the religions over and appeasing the other half. The fething would be done in a random matter, likely drawing names from a hat.
