How often do you find yourself afraid of something (excluding shock reactions)? Share it if you want. I ask because I really can't think of anything that scares me much anymore. Death, Hell, failure, and loss are all easily rationalized away(to me). The only thing I really fear anymore is being alone and even that seems to be a weak fear a great deal of the time.

There are things out there I respect, simply because I know what they can do. Yes, I have learned I am mortal, and I'm not ready to move on just yet (not the same as being afraid, there's stuff still to do and see, dad gum it!)

Fear though, that is for those I don't want to lose: my children, friends, and family.

Your heart will never beat as fast as it does when your darling toddler is running hell bent for leather into heavy traffic, and you just might not catch her in time(a similar situation inspired Stephen King to write "Pet semetary").

Aye, I remembered this one time, my brother was in the passenger's seat when he was cruising with some church friends, they got into a car accident and it was my brother's side that got hit, he was okay, but i remembered how worried i got, a mix of fear and wanting to beat the crap out of the careless girl that was driving and waving at her friends...

I've always had an odd fear of having my body stuck headfirst down into a hole just narrow enough to keep my arms pinned to my side...yikes...

Voted 'alot', because I'm the equivalent of that big, macho guy who's afraid of a butterfly.

My biggest fear would be being an outcast, and most of my conflict stems from the fact that I don't want to be part of a 'whole', either. So I basically long to be around people who at least think I'm useful, but I can never allow myself to be accepted and seen as one of them by said people. That's one of the big differences between me and my avy.

The rest of my fears come from a mix of slight paranoia, pessimism, stiff-assed-ness, nihilism, pride and sheer darn stupidity.

That said, I'm pretty happy and comfortable with most of you guys here.

And if anyone wants to compete for the weirdest phobia, let me start. My weirdest phobia would be my fear of fruits. Yes, fruits. I haven't eaten one since I can remember, and my mind automatically forces my throat to reject whatever I try to force down. I don't even like their smell. Beat that.

I'm not really a 'fear' sort of afraid person, more of a 'shock' sort of person. The giant evil monster won't scare me, but it jumping out from behind me will.

same here although i can to intense action as long as it keeps going and there isnt a huge dull moment in the game ya get wjat i am saying? i find that most games and movies rely on the action of the guy popping out then the guy himself

I'm not really sure. It's just something that's been stuck in my mind for as long as I can remember, to the point that I've grown used to it.

I believe that no one can not be afraid. People must be afraid of at least 1 thing.

Anyways, I have 2 phobias; one is rational while the other is more irrational.

The rational seems to be popular in my town. It is fear by shock.

However my other one which is, strangedollsthatjustsitthereanddonothingandisreallyannoyingbutverycreppysinceallit'sdoingisjuststaringatyouphobia. Which is why every time I go to wall-mart, or any other type of mall, I bring my cross, bible, and holy water.
