Samaritan Flight Program

Yeah, I think I will be a pilot for Lifeline,
I would like to if anyone has any info on it, and requirements.

Lifeline is cool. From what I understand it's like flying a rescue helo but not governmentally run. They get some totally sweet european helos too.

Also, being a pilot is great. Go us.

Yeah, you fly to a scene, land, pick someone up (Nurse and Paramedic do that, and care for them.) land a hospital, and wait for the next call.

It is a big responsibility, and there are only two choppers, so I may not get a lot of time to fly, (Best case is I rarely have to go to a scene)

Meh, would be nerve racking too....

That sounds pretty cool. Pilots for the win. :D I want to fly an A-10 when I join the USAF. That's a bit of a ways away though, six years at least.

I've never been one for flying aircraft, but I've always wanted to help design them. The mix of power, speed, agility...how can you not love something like that? I'm studying materials engineering in the hopes of going to one day design these kinds of things.

If you've got ~$80 you can take a half hour flight in a Cessna 172 and see how you like it.

Also good luck with that DK. We actually only have 700 something A-10s.

If I decide to go with the millitary, I'll be flyin' the F-22. First choice would be F-117 (maybe B-2? As you can see I love the stealth planes...) but I'm not so sure about being a pilot anymore...

Heh, the F-22 does look fun. My brother is a weapons technician on the F-22s at Langely, AFB and he knows all kinds of fun facts about them.

Just bear in mind, to be any kind of fighter pilot in the AF is really difficult to acheive. You'd have more luck in the Navy. I'm going NROTC->Navy flight training->Coast Guard C-130s. Shouldn't be too hard.

Oh, I've got that fact stuck permanently in my mind. I'm not planning on becoming a pilot right away, in fact. I want to work on the UAV projects first(which is why I'm majoring in EE). I'm going AFROTC -> UAV technician or researcher -> AF Flight school -> A-10, F-16, or F-22 pilot. Of course, this is all shooting pretty high so I'm ready to face the possibility of not being able to do all this. :P
