My youngest is right now having a circumcision done. We're talking anasthesia and all. Last I heard, it was going fine, but that was thirty minutes ago, and Leaving me here worrying about all the things that can go wrong with a seven month old.

Of course, having been awake since three hasn't helped. He usually gets a feeding at three....and this time, he couldn't have it.

Lordy I wished they'd call me back already.

We're home, and so far, so good. Now if I can just keep that little wriggleworm's sutures clean and ointed, we'll be good.

It may be hard now, but it's way better to have it done at a young age when he wont remember it. I hear tell that having it done when you're older is near the top ranking pain men can experience. That and sanitation issues down there can't be much fun to grow up with. In my humble opinion, it's definatly best to get it out of the way now.

I had wanted it done the day he was born, but the doctor was worried about proportion issues (apparently, him had huge head, short shaft) and wouldn't do it then. No, we had to wait for health issues to develop, and deal with anathesia (which he was slow waking up from, scared me silly)

I'm glad there were no complications. At least the surgeons were skilled.

So, how's he doing?

Mostly sleepy, a little fussy. I can give him baby tylenol, but that's it for pain. He does NOT like me cleaning or putting medicine on it, lemme tell ya. I wish I knew more about this, it bothers me I know so little about it. I don't want ot be an alarmist, but if something's wrong...I want to get it cared for, he's so precious. Right now, it looks like a marichino cherry....and an angry one at that.

He had the nurses charmed the minute he entered their doors. He was asleep for it- hence the worries over anasthesia. So during the proc, kinda feel I got the worst of it. I almost didn't get my wee boy back- they wanted to keep him. Actually, he wouldn't wake up enough to suit them for the better part of an hour. It was his usual nap time by then, and he was as awake as he ever was for noonish/one-ish.

He's feeling it now, though, and making his displeasures known when it hurts him.

Again, my condolences Mother. I hope he gets over the pain quickly and as well he can...but he'll probably be sore for ages to come...

Quite frankly, I don't remember jack about my circumcission. From how you're describing it, I'm glad to not remember^^ I do remember things from the age of three and up, and that I had no circ-related pains/problems, so he'll be fine. I can almost garrentee it.

Well, my little bro's four years older than me, and I practically raised him from a pup/kitten/dragonet/hatchling/whatever. So, I think I could give you some advice, if you ever need it.

Be thankful it's not twins....the horror stories my parents tell. Besides, boys are easier to raise then girls, for the most part. Though it doesn't help that this is your first male child, right?
