I'm normally great at this, and it's a bit of a sting at my pride to say this, but I need help with a book title.

It's a composition and literature project- we have to write a retelling of a fairy tale, and our writing time will be from now until Christmas. (it has to be close to 28,000 words long, which is longer than anything I have ever written, but that's beside the point.)

ANYWAYS. The one I'm doing is a psychological thriller/murder mystery type thing in the guise of a Little Red Riding Hood retelling, and I have no idea what to call it.

Please help if you can.

Hm...I got a couple ideas. Might not be too good though.

Blood in the Wood.
Blood in the Hood.
Little Blood Hood.
Murder in a Red Cape (She did have a cape, right? I mean, it was a hooded cape, wasn't it?)

Just a few silly ideas^^

Which elements are you sticking to, which elements are you ditching for the story?
You have somni's excellent titles, and of course all the spins you can make off the old "big bad wolf"
not to mention "off to Gramma's"
or "Offed at Gramma's"
The silly puns have no end.

If you want a serious title, what are the main, most important elements you want on the reader's mind?

Plain simple 'Hood'?

"Basket for a Stranger"?

Title doesn't reveal too much. Was it to be a gift, was there something of importance in the basket, who is the stranger in the title, etc.

Title Ideas?

Give me a moment to come up with a few:

Red Forest
Fangs Beneath Glasses
To Lure Little Girls
Falltime Obituary
Within a Smile
Wood on the Fire

Sorry if these don't help out at all, I just enjoy throwing out random title ideas. There's something fun about it!

Given the fact that in the original story had the wolf switching the meat and wine out for grandma's flesh and blood and then giving Red some for a snack, a liturgical reference might be clever.

You could also give it it's first name: The False Grandmother (the red cap was added by Perrault, this is a transcription of how older versions went) or some variant translation, maybe The Ersatz Elder if you're feeling Unfortunate Event-y.
