So, in my quarter century +1, I've been a lot of places.

Germany
Ft. Louis, WA
Ft. Devens, MA
Schofield Barracks, HI
Ft. Huachuca, AZ
Forsyth, MT
Goose Creek, SC
Norfolk, VA
Billings, MT

And those are just the ones I've lived in. Visited so many more. Like:

Catania, Sicily
Dubai, UAE
The Seychelles Islands

Anyone else been interesting places? Maybe have a story to tell?

Germany was pretty nice, wasn't it? Easily one of the best places to be stationed, imho.

I've been all across America and most places sucked. The worst place though, by far, was Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. I hate that place more than I hate vegetarian food. All the trees are dead 80% of the year, there's 1 part grass for every 50 parts dirt, and it's a place of extremes. Scorching in the summery, freezing in the winter. And it's full of Marine and Air Force recruits.

Worst place ever. I was there in the ice storm of '06 that made national news and killed people. Worst feeling in the world is trying to sleep in the middle of 50 mph winds wearing polly pros (thermal underwear), ACUs, cold weather overgarments, full MOPP (NBC protection) gear, and sleeping in three different sleeping bags and still being so cold your entire body stings.

[censored] Fort Leonardwood.

Wouldn't know. We left when I was about 20 months old.

I've moved around quite abit, just not on that grand a scale: The two years I lived in Louisianna, we had two or three different places we called home.

Lived in several different towns just here in Alabama. Brewton, Atmore, Huxford, Robinsonville, and Montgomery just to name a few.

Frequent visitor to Texas and Georgia, and no stranger to Florida.

That I've managed to stay at the same address for five consecutive years is nothing short of Amazing.

Five years would be a personal best for me, Wynni. We've just bought a house, though... so we might hit that! Eventually.

Ah my bad, thought that was one of that places you did some time. Germany was fantastic, great weather, great beer, great everything. There were a lot of very strange sex fetish shops though, but other than that it was perfect.

Jeez, lemme see if I can remember them all...

Duluth, MI
Allabouts, WI
Chicago, IL

Drove through Minnesota, North & South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington way back when I was a kiddo.

Drove up to Altona, Manitoba on our way to Idaho a while back. They didn't require you to have a Visa, either, back then. I think you do now, :c

I've only had two interesting trips.

Italy and Japan. Both of which were fun, but one significantly moreso. :P

I've been from Texas up to Washington DC, at least along the coast. That's about it for within the country.

As far as out-of-country, I've been to Managua, Nicaragua and Quito, Ecuador on mission trips. Both for a period of 2 - 3 weeks. It wasn't a long trip, but we weren't there to play tourist (too much). We split our time between various charities and community services, with a day or two for, well, playing tourist.

Quito was quite possibly the greatest three weeks of my life. We went down with two thousand pairs of shoes for the local kids, and ended up giving every single pair away -- we even had to go buy a few pairs for kids that didn't come in time. We also volunteered at a soup kitchen, playing with kids and helping cook. That went on for just over two weeks, then we went into the rain forest for a little R and R. Absolutely the greatest experience of my life. Ever since then, I've become conscious about how lucky I am to have the luxuries we enjoy in the States (electricity and hot water, among them). Staying in a third world country really opened my eyes.

Eesh...I need to wander more some time soon, don't like sitting in one place so long. Anyways in no particular order I've been to (places I've lived/visited):

Iceland (birth place)
Alaska, US
Virginia, US
Maryland, US
Delaware, US
California, US many times
Arizona, US
Mexico
Nevada, US
Utah, US
Hawaii, US x4
Canada x2
Texas, US
Louisiana, US
Mississippi, US
Oklahoma, US
Idaho, US
Washington, US x4
Oregon, US x3

...I'm sure I'm forgetting a few places...spent a year and some months wandering the west coast after I graduated. Still trying to find my place really, though I currently reside in Washington, which is pretty alright. Have vacation time coming up and want to go out of country again, thinking maybe Australia or something.

I've said it elsewhere, and I'll say it again. If any of you are passing through Montana and want a hot meal, I'll cook. And... yeah, I need to wander more, myself. I had a grand old time taking 3 weeks to get from SC to VA, via Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. I really hope my wife will loosen up and let me go on a road trip to Seattle for my birthday. It's been a long time since I could go do anything, just me and my dad.

Well if y'all ever need anything info or otherwise on Seattle let me know...I live about 45 minutes out from there. Great place, a lot to see, the museums and science center are excellent! Aquarium is pretty cool too...course you have to see the Space Needle, it's like a requirement. Lots to do/see as I mentioned. |D

just be careful around the Kent/Renton areas at midnight on Friday/Saturday ^^'
