Numbskulls? What makes you consider them as such? From what I have seen of them, we can't say that we know much about their personalities. Well, Eric's brother is really a kind guy who likes to mess with people, and bully Keidrans, but that doesen't make him a numbskull in my oppinion. As for The Master Scryer's daughter (as I'm guessing that's who you're referring to) we've only seen her speak once. And she certainly didn't seem like a numbskull to me from what she said.

Actually, if I remember right, Master Seer`s daughter spoke twice: First to her dad in one of the towers and second (her numbskull-defining-moment) when her cat, her number one espionage tool, gets wasted by Lady Nora, what causes a full-scale mission failure! She isn't quite useful, or?

And Eric's brother, Roderick or so: He's a Templar... with a sword... *yawn*
If he gets too close to Flora, Trace would supposedly smash him to pieces.

If they aren't numbskulls, they are BF nulls.

I wouldn't call them numbskulls because of those statements. The girl is obviously very young, so ofcourse she was baffled at what her spy cat did with Lady Nora. Though I can't for my life remember that time she spoke with her father in the tower... Regardless, I am still not convinced.

Boy, I'ma beat you with detergent...

*ahem* back to the topic, your statement didn't make any sense. You're saying they're "numbskulls" *shudder* because they depend on her? Or are you saying she's a numbskull herself? Or both? Which ever one is true, it doesn't matter, because they're all false. They aren't dumb, by any stretch of the word. They weren't expecting a dragon to show up (would you?). And don't argue that Nora wasn't a dragon when she "distracted" the cat, because no normal cat would've have been able to come up with the idea, or have reason to, or have the magic necessary to, pull off such a stunt (I say magic would be necessary because the child's grip on the cat's mind would've been to strong for the cat to have broken himself. This is the Templar we're talking about, after all). And the rest aren't depending on her, either. Again, they are Templar. Master Templar, no less. Five ruling heads put together would obviously have a backup plan (and whadd'ya know, Templar tower waiting for our heroes when they arrive^^!).

And Sithil's right. It doesn't make Eric's brother a numbskull, just an @$$hole.

Edit: although Roderick is pretty dumb

OK, maybe the term dead loss is more accurate to describe there capabilities. But hey, she's the Master Seer's daughter, so she could have developed a more elaborate plan to foil Nora's interference to her reconnaissance operation. Doesn't she know some remote anti-cat spells as MS' daughter?

The Master Templar have possibly several back-up plans, but at this point set comic/manga-rule no. 1 in: No matter how sophisticated the eeeevvviiilll plans of the main nogoodnicks are, the protagonist wins the climatic battle and foil them, so Trace ultimately will *beware, spoiler* beat the so called Master Templar. ^_^

Master Seer is actually Sephiroth? Would give a interesting crossover!
