I have basically salvaged a motherboard that is no longer in use by another student in my A+ class. I havent had the chance to ask my teacher if it is possible to still use this board seeing as there are burn marks over the first SD Ram slot . I was just wondering if I could still use the other two or not or if the motherboard would be considered fried. I havent had the chance to hook it up considering I dont have a processor, ram sticks, nor a video card to slap on it at the moment. But if it helps I have taken a few photos of the motherboard to see if it helps sorry if its blurry

It might still work, I'd just avoid that RAM slot. I'd consult the person you got it from to find out what happened to it first though.

Well basically the guy told me that whenever he tried to load up windows the screen would keep saying boot system failure after the POST screen. Couldnt that mean that its either the hard drive is causing the problem or something on the motherboard, like a two way street right?

Hopefully, the problem lies within the IDE/SATA cables, or the hard drive itself, and not the motherboard. If it turns out to be the motherboard, you may as well throw it away, it will do no good for anything besides being a large paperweight.

Don't necropost unless you've got something mind-blowingly relevant to say.

DarkMystic122, if you want this thread re-opened just PM me and I'll do it.
