If you head over to this site, there is a patch available to download that lets you fully customize (fully, as in everything) WLM. You can get rid of the obnoxious tabs, the advertisements, the search bars, everything. I just finished up cleaning my messenger and now it actually looks and operates the way it should have when I first got it.

So now I'm actually going to use MSN, XD

My friend talked me into downloading the messenger. I'll be investigating this, pal.

(Oh god, the avatar's got me role playing Gumshoe)

:) No problem, just figured it'd make this app more manageable. Now all they need is to change the smilies.

:? What's Windows Messenger, and why do I have the feeling that's a little like asking "what is Twokinds?"

It's MSN Messenger, just with a new name. They fill it with ads, tabs that lead to sponsor sites, billing tabs, etc. The patch above lets you alter the core code of the Messenger by checking/unchecking boxes. As you do so, you're given a display image of what your messenger would look like if you clicked OK.

It's very intuitive, and makes WLM into a decent program.

Thanks for finding and posting this. As the "The computer is broke, go get him to fix it" guy for my family and school, this might actually make me use WLM instead of Pidgin (Even though I would use Pidgin if I didn't need the other programs for troubleshooting). Now if only someone could do this for AIM/YIM....

Oh and Drisk, Yes, yes it would. As punishment, you have to go touch all the doorknobs
