Over the past month, both me and my mother have been technoligically cursed, with both of our computers failing, we had to resort to our two labtops, then, one of those ones failed ( the one she used ) and she, being the lovely lady that she is, decided to take mine. Then the other day, my grandfather ( yes we live with my grandfather, and we are rather poor, but i doubt YOU have a 67 inch t.v. in your family room, huh ) ofered me a computer. I took it, and while its rather old, i have managed to install multiple programs on it, get windows xp to install nice and smooth, and am currently trying to figure out how to get my wireless card to work. Now, this seems like pretty simple stuff, however, with me, nothing is simple, and while it all seems great, i still have more work to do on it. the video card is average, and i DESPERATLY need a new hard drive, the one i have has a total of 9.1 gigs of memory, without anything on it. lolz. overall though, its still awesome, at least to me, it wont play to many games, but i think i can fix that ;)

I think you can get a whole terabyte with mere 500 U.S dollars nowadays, though why bother, when a new decent computer can be bought with +-$1000.

Good luck with that one, though.

A 500GB HDD is 100-120$, so a 1TB wouldn't be but 200-300$.

As for new computers altogether, Geno is right. They're getting fairly cheap. My new computer was only around 600$ and I can play TF2, portal, etc.

Less than 300? Man, local computer stores do overcharge. Should've ordered from Hongkong or something :?

I aimed for maximum gaming experience with minimum price, and got it all built up, ready to use. Would've been 1020€, but they get to cut some with bigger deals.

You're never going to fill up a TB of HDD space, 8D

But yeah, good luck on your building spree! If you need any suggestions for parts, drop us a line!

You'd have to torrent a lot of porn, I'll tell you what.

I've got 500GB of HDD space, have it 1/4 full with Assassin's Creed, World of Warcraft, Crysis, Half Life 1, 2, Episode 1 & 2, Poral, Team Fortress 2, Bioshock, Garry's Mod, America's Army, MS Office, etc...

Mine wouldn't have been as cheap as it is pre-built. :) I never buy computers any more, I just build em'.

Yeah, but look at those ratings... sorry, but if it doesn't have at least 80% 5-star rating, I stay away from it. That may be low cost, but you only get what you pay for.

I didn't even look at the ratings on that one. it was just an example. xP I'm much the same way.

:) It's how I determined the parts for my build. Did a lot of research before I forked out the money. It's really not something you want to run into Best Buy for, because these guys are advertisers, they're going to paint sh*t gold, :)
