It should render very similarly to Safari -- they're both based on WebKit, as you note. Of course, Safari's based on a newer version of WebKit now, which is why it's no longer vulnerable to the "Carpet Bombing" bug. I expect that to be fixed in Chrome before it hits RC. I've also heard Chrome emulates a lot of Opera's features -- from what I've heard the position of the tabs above the address bar is one of them.
For me, the interesting thing will be seeing exactly how fast V8 is with Javascript. And moreover, how it compares with Mozilla's new Javascript engine and IE8's (I've read that IE8 is somewhat behind in that arena).
