--NOTE: if you're not in a mood to read, skip to the next dashed line.-----------------

Legend has it that, once upon a time, the four tribes of the world, the Clavats, the Selkies, the Lilties, and the Yukes lived together in peace, in an ancient citadel known as Rebena Te Ra, far to the north of our world. There, a great king ruled justly over his many subjects, and life was prosperous.

One day, a great meteor fell from the night sky, red and awful to behold, it flew straight towards the earth, it's blue spikes glistening with insane beauty.

The world was in tumult as the meteor crashed, sending the great blue shards over the land that once knew peace and, after this, would not see anything but misery for years to come.

The world began to change, the air becoming poison, and the King sent emissaries to the blue shards and the meteor to try to discern what had become of their world.

The Selkies had, for the most part, chosen a perilous path that seemed to take them through the swamps to the south of the Citadel. Why they chose to do this, nobody knows, but they were never heard from again.

their way blocked by the mysterious gas they labeled "Miasma", they just made it to the shards, some dying of poisoning, to find that the air was cleaner near the blue shards. They began building settlements immediately, for they did not have the numbers to return to their king, and soon all but forgot their royal duty, for the chance to live peacefully once again shone before them.

What became of Rebena Te Ra, you say? It slowly died, having no crystal of its own, it's occupants dying much like Tida did, many years later, full of hope that their people would soon return with some cure for the air of death -- the miasma.

Soon, The villagers began to see that their crystal's shine was fading. Taking small pieces of it with them, they scoured the land for a possible answer.

A small boy came back with a bucket filled with a strange liquid. He said that this could be used to restore the crystal. the villagers, at this time willing to believe anything to save themselves, applied the liquid -- they were the first to call it "Myrrh" -- and the crystal shone brightly once again. Thus the ritual of the caravan was born, set to recover and return with enough Myrrh for the crystal to shine another year.

Such had it been for decades, when a caravan from this very town, Anxious to provide for their village, traveled the world for the miracle liquid, and found a path to the very meteor itself, snowed over from the ages and no longer itself a threat, but miasma issued forth from its crevices. Venturing inside, the Caravan encountered a great and monstrous parasite, terrible in its power and horrid in nature.

It was an epic clash between heroes and monster, good and evil, worthy of song and dance even nowadays, as you may have heard. The battle itself is unclear from the history books, but the result we do know: The heroes overcame the great beast, clearing the land of the awful miasma and bringing peace once more....

...or so they thought.

Though the parasite was indeed no more, the Miasma returned, greater and thicker than ever before, a few months later. Fortunately, the villages still had the crystal's blessing, and were spared still from the miasma's wrath. Thusly we live to this day, still encased by the prison our ancestors fell victim to.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This RP is set in, as you may have guessed, the same world that Crystal Chronicles is, only some 70 years after the miasma was ridden from the world. The miasma has returned, claiming the world once more, and the old practice of caravans collecting Myrrh is still used.

Guns have just begun to be developed, but are unreliable, inaccurate, and reserved for last resorts by the town officials only. For the most part, the world still relies on magic, bows and melee sources to get the job done.

Players will (hopefully) start out in the village of Tipa, where they will be hearing the story above from a moogle. Starting in Tipa is not required, but is heavily requested, as it shall be the only town looking for replacements to their caravan.

Bio format:

Name:
Gender:
Race: (Clavat, Yuke, Lilty or Selkie.)
Age:
Physical Appearance:
Personality:
History:
Family Trade: (if applicable)
Hometown: (Alfitaria, Marrs Pass, Tipa, Leuda, Shella)
Spells known: (you may have only one to begin with. Choices are Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, or Cure.)

I will be playing as the Caravan's moogle, who is coincidentally telling the other players this story. I'll also be writing periodic "Journal entries" summing up on what's happened so far during the RP. In this manner I can oversee and intervene on the story as needed without interrupting it.

And for those of you who know nothing about the world of Crystal Chronicles, here is a link you may find helpful:

Here's a couple of characters

Name: Kat
Gender: Female
Race: Selkie
Age: 18
Physical Appearance: 5'8", 120lbs. Kat has long black hair, brown eyes, slightly tanned skin. Wears a red top, brown pants and black boots. She carries a Fallen Angel Bow and a hell of a lot of arrows in a quiver.
Personality: Kind, compassionate and talkative. She believes in upholding justice and doing the right thing, even if it's not liked by others.
History: Kat was born in Abyssus Forest and abandoned by her parents when she was 12. After she was abandoned she left the forest and traveled to Villa, where she met Chris. She instantly liked Chris and has lived with him and his family ever since, helping out with the housework and cooking whenever she's able to.
She left Villa with Chris to travel to Tipa because of word that they were seeking replacements for their caravan. Of course, Kat wanted to help because to her it was the right thing to do.
Family Trade: None.
Hometown: Abyssus Forest
Spells known: Cure

Name: Chris
Gender: Male
Race: Clavat
Age: 21
Physical Appearance: 6'3", 146lbs. Chris is well muscled, with brown hair, bright green eyes and a dark tan. He wears a blue shirt and black, blacksmith's pants. He carries a Murumasa sword.
Personality: Chris used to be reserved, selfish and ungrateful. This all changed when he met Kat and now he is outgoing, selfless and kind. He does all he can to help others, even if they can't repay him for the help.
History: Chris grew up to be a blacksmith. His father taught him all he knew and Chris crafted himself a Murumasa sword.
Chris was never fascinated with being a blacksmith and when he met Kat and she asked him to go to Tipa with him, he obliged. It meant he didn't have to be a blacksmith and instead could actually be of help and protect the caravan that Kat wanted to join with him.
Chris never could say no to Kat and it hasn't changed yet. Odds are that he's got a big crush on Kat.
Family Trade: Blacksmith
Hometown: Villa
Spells known: Blizzard

Rejected. Kat may have a reason not to have one, but Chris could do to have a last name. I also would like to know what their weapons are and how Kat stumbled across that bow. Also, I've never heard of the town of Villa. Either describe it's location and history to me in a PM or pick another town. I'll post the ones I know/have been approved up in the first post, by the bio format.

Pending corrections, I see nothing else wrong with them.

-EDIT- Forgot to add this, but Kat is awfully lightweight for her size.

I have provided a link to the game's Wikipedia page in the first post. That was my fault there: I thought that, since I've seen so much of Final Fantasy on these forums, that people here would know any FF game.

Race: Selkie
Age: 18
Physical Appearance: 5'8", 130lbs. Kat has long black hair, brown eyes, slightly tanned skin. Wears a red top, brown pants and black boots. She carries a Fallen Angel Bow, which was a gift from Chris' dad before the two left for Tipa, and a hell of a lot of arrows in a quiver.

History: Kat was born in Abyssus Forest and abandoned by her parents when she was 12. After she was abandoned she left the forest and traveled to Tipa, where she met Chris. She instantly liked Chris and has lived with him and his family ever since, helping out with the housework and cooking whenever she's able to.
She heard about the town needing more people for the caravan and she decided to join with Chris. Of course, Kat joined because it seemed like the right thing to do.

Leuda, as some know, is the capitol of Selkie power in the known world. As such, it's somewhat ironic that Kat met Chris there. However, Leuda is an exclusively Selkie village, and is only accessible by boat. I had hoped that the link to the wikipedia site would have resolved this sort of issue, but it seems that it was lacking some information.

Change his hometown and please explain that Murumasa blade, and they're approved. Any other town listed should be fine, other than Shella (yukes only)

OK, changed it.
And the website doesn't mention anything about the towns so it didn't provide much help.

Hey Lohti. considering Yukes are the main magic castors, could they possibly have more than one starting spells.

If not heres mine;

Name: Dekku
Gender: Male
Race: Yuke
Age: 25
Physical Appearance: 6'1" 158lbs. has steel version of this helmet (http://kuroi1nu.deviantart.com/art/drag ... t-80397598).
and found a liking to different type of shoe. Standard yuke clothing only looser and longer and a pattern and design to look less of a kilt. Otherwise looks like other Yukes.
Personality: Cautious, friendly and wise. Always thinks before acts and knows enough to help others in daily struggles.
History: His father was a respected powerful magician and councilor of Shella and he wanted his son to follow his footsteps. Lived on Shella for his whole life, learning magic at really heavy extremes, up 'til now with the ambition to help the world out of chaos.
Family trade: Magic, Politics
Hometown: Shella
Spells: thunder

I addressed this issue on another forum in which I'm hosting a duplicate of this very RP, as the Yukes were indeed the most magical race -- they charged their spells the fastest, but that did not give them an advantage in how many spells they had. You will be able to, as a yuke, cast spells faster than anyone else, but I'll not have any player starting off with more than one spell, as there aren't that many you can learn in the original game anyway.

well..you could learn more spells if you picked up the Magic orb and had enough room in your inventory, heck that's where you mix all the magic's (along with my fav, Gravity)

anyway, sounds like fun, I'll add a char too

edit : Name: Baroque Stelhelm
Gender: Male
Race: Lility
Age: 20
Physical Appearance: a normal looking Lility, nearly 3'7" has golden yellow eyes. He has a unique armor that looks like normal armor, but only with a yellow and black print on his chest plating and arm plating, along with large gauntles with chains around them and a knife at the side of each. He also has his long halberd spear

Personality: A man who has a long patience and temper, which is odd for his family. He does tend to get viloent when his temper blows and has to wait until he's calm and collected before he heads out. Baroque likes to explore around and has a sense of adventure, making him one of the first to join the caravan.

History: The second youngest son of Tomidran and Selliqo, the blacksmiths of Tipa. They used to live in Alfitaria before Tomidran decided to move down to Tipa to let his family grow up. Tomidran's first son, Marxison, became an apprentace in the black-smithing and also wanted Baroque to do the same but Barogue thought otherwise, learning about nature and animals and flora, also gaining his need to explore and to have adventure. He came up with his armor idea of his armor to the study of bees.

Shortly after the miasma outbreak, his mother fell ill and soon died, leaving Tomidran in a state of depression and leaving Marxison in care of the smith and his other brother and sister in his care. When Tipa offered to have a caravan, he optly volunteered due to his sense of adenture, and as a last wish from his mother.

another issue I addressed in the other forum... Magicite is not playing a role in this RP as, frankly, it's quite useless to have spells vanish when you leave an area and, in this RP, the roads and even the towns may no longer be safe...

alright, that solves that question

So which towns are infested and what happens to them ((I never got that far in the game, only to the Mansion level with the Tonberry's and the big fella and queen ))

I never said anything about towns being infested, aside from Tida, which is, reasonably, still monster-ridden, since their shard has... well, it disappeared in the game, if anyone noticed.

I was referring to the possibility of bandits or maybe a monster attack on the town, in which, if a mage relied on magicite, would render him useless during such an event.

also, your characters are approved.

Five characters already? Hmm.... well, I think that's enough to start.

-EDIT- JDS, your yuke is also approved.

-EDITEDIT- the main RP is up for play.
