Right, I probably won't do anything with these for a while, but I would like to get some feedback.

Idea one-the gods of Generic Fantasy World are just chilling. And they get bored. So they decide to have a contest. What follows is rather randomly empowering some people and goading them to fight. Not all of them would be so keen on the idea of just killing one another for the entertainment of some god, though. Further complicating matters are those who DO want to play the game, law enforcement (because battles cause rubble), religions trying to recruit you as their messiah, other chuches trying to kill you, outsiders trying to kill you, people who want to harness your power, etc, etc, etc. Since you're already supah-powerful, would probably focus more on relationships, subtle plots, and fighting fate then just slaughtering millions. I don't plan on using any system for it, because all the players and major villains are around the same power level. As the world isn't finished yet, it may be a while.

Idea two-A western tale. Would follow more episodic plots and a few recurring characters than a massive arc story, but still fun. Different in that there are werewolves, demons, vampires, angels, ghosts, and some limited magic. And just like in the game doom, nightmarish beings can be killed. Some of you (butterball, Optix, Drisk) may recognize this as "Against the fall of night." Also may be a while, as I have school.

As a counter to "you all meet in an Inn", i'll probably be using one of the methods described at the below site.

It's also completely possible that I get someone else to do the GMing, and have it be a dual effort. I'd like 4-5 people before making any of them.

I'd go with Idea 2, a Western tale is a change for once. Should be interesting seeing as we don't all meet at a tavern, common cliche, I'm glad someone shares my opinion.

first one makes me think, "Plot for your building project." Second one makes me think, "Western tale with all the normal RP stuff thrown into the mix." Both are meh, but I think the 1st is better.

Right, I have a few other ideas now.

Ripped from Red Mage-
You're a normal person, and a fictional item ends in your possesion as a result of a will. And later, the forces from that universe come to take it.

So yeah. The plot writes itself, I guess.

The basic plot is that the murders are being committed by gangs who have been handed magical items as part of an experiment. Said magical items are coming from a disputed island off the coast, where an ancient airship is being excavated. Illegally. Because said island is in disputed waters, it's just that everyone thought it was a worthless chunk of rock in the middle of stormy seas.

Said items are shipped by boat to the city at night to dock 51, and then brought to a lab to be tested. They are modified so that they can be turned off from a central control panel, and then handed out. After all, violent street gangs make good beta testers for potentially unstable weaponry.


So, the mysterious guys are from Dark Nasty Land. They've figured out what's going on, and are manipulating the PC's into destroying the test subjects and capturing the items for them, avoiding war and strengthening their armies.

And at least one street gang leader is smart, and figured out a way to disable the safeties. He wants to run the city from the shadows, for a rather large sum of money.

Let's not forget that despite the name, The Glorious Empire is not pure good, and they've got a flying fortress that they're excavating.

For this one, Dark Nasty Land is a wet, rainy, and dark country to the north of the Glorious Empire Of Caledonia. It's a fantasy-ish setting, but technology exists, and Magitek is in the realm of Lost Technology. Also notable is Ireland, a large island off the coast, where everyone has some innate magical ability...and no spellcasting whatsoever.
