Anyone that's been following A Simple Ruler, our RPers have... somewhat vanished.

So we're opening it up for new people to join. I'm the new GM, but Chaosye is still the creator, and can voice any objections he pleases, and they will be listened to.

Everyone is allowed to join, and don't worry about reading the old thread, as Nuff will be providing a summary before we get started.

Everyone returning, please resubmit your character sheets.

Here's the sheet for the newbies:




My character:

Name: Ninazu
Gender: Male
Race: Ice dragon
Notable skills: Can freeze the moisture in the air as he pleases. Well, to a certain extent. He doesn't really have much magic at his disposal. He is also revealed to have thought reading abilities through Book 1
Weakness: Most magic. Ice, of course, does not effect him.
Appearance: He resembles an average dragon. His "wings", however resemble fins more than actual wings, he can barely fly. He usually walks on two feet, even though it is strange. Human form: He usually takes this form when around the "lesser" beings. He has brown hair, and a small goatee. Usually wears a dark brown hooded cloak, a white shirt, and black slacks. If he takes the form of a keidran, it is usually as a wolf.
"Weapons": His claws, teeth, ice magic, and pure burning RAAAAAGE (that won't happen again, I promise)
Magic level (cause it is important): For a human, high level ice magic. Not the highest, but nothing to sneeze at. However, he is fairly weak for a dragon. He is very young after all.
Bio: His parents just disappeared when he was VERY young, and he was taken in by a kind old fire dragon, who raised him. Due to this, he had to learn to control his abilities on his own, and he made slow progress. He was unable to learn magic, as his adoptive parent didn't know how to teach an ice dragon. He has always been interested in these "lesser beings" that the old dragon talks about.

After leaving his cave, he has lost his confidence and courage. He has left the group for the time being, leaving nothing behind.
Friends: His old father (the fire dragon), Lillian, Foxen
Enemies: Nergal, Malic, Marrik (he only let the guy live because of Foxen), Bane

A Simple Ruler: Book 1 followed the story of a band of mismatched would be adventures in their quest stop the end of the world as they know it. By their side was Marrik, one of the very few remaining members of the dead elven race, and the cursed bearer of death incarnate. The groups target was Malic, Marrik’s twin brother and life incarnate.

Both were brothers of royal and demonic lineage, but they had chosen two very different paths. Malic planned to bring the elven race back from the dead using his powers of life, but he would have to harvest the souls of the living to do so. Marrik planned to stop him.

The groups first rocky experience was when they crossed paths with a dragon hunter named Bane. He was intent on killing Ninazu, and used Lillian to get to him. Bane was defeated halfway through a dual with Ninazu, with Johan knocking him clean out with a magical cannon he‘d developed.

This battle was the first sign of things going wrong for the group. Many had lost trust in Marrik as he had imprisoned them all in an attempt to throw Bane off the sent of Ninazu. Not the mention, the whole ordeal had left Ninazu weak and venerable to his evil side, Nergal. The final thing to reduce him to a shell of his former self was Lillian’s choice to leave the group. She could no longer bare to be a danger to her friend, and after seeing him feral was afraid to admit that she was scared of her friend.

Despite Banes interference, Marrik’s plan to unite the factions of the thieves guild against Malic was put into full swing. However it was clear that though the guilds may very well unite against Malic, not all were keen on following orders from Marrik. On such leader was Bix, and she planned behind Marriks back his downfall. She even went as far to equip her old flame Bane, who was hell-bent on revenge, with the enchanted sword Kingslayer. The dragon slayers plan? If he couldn’t kill Marrik, then he would take something close to him away, his lover Foxen.

All seemed to spiral out of control once Marrik departed for a meeting of the guild leaders. Without his guidance all hell broke lose. Ninazu final let Nergal get inside his head and with Nergal throwing illusions around, the young dragon went berserk. He started to destroy the town that the group was staying at and so began the battle that shattered the group.

Despite the return of Lillian, now packing unwanted powers, the Ninazu the group knew was unreachable. They fought against him to stop his bloody rage but it only resulted in Foxen, Luna, and Lillian being knocked unconscious and… the tragic death of Jonah by Ninazu’s own hands.

The town in ruins and the towns folk dead. only Lillian, Luna and Foxen remained alive after Ninazu’s rampage. Inconsolable after realising what he had done, Ninazu left the group in the pursuit of his now free from him alter ego, Nergal.

As Lillian and Foxen open they beaten and weary eyes they realise that they are all that remain. Laying next to them a note saying that if Marrik ever wanted to see his lover again he would have to come and face Bane in the forest that once were home to the elves. Only it wasn’t Foxen he had taken, in the confusion Bane had kidnapped Luna by mistake.

Months pass with Lillian and Foxen roaming together in the search for Luna. It is then that they stumble upon a town under siege from bandits.

**This is where you guys come in. You will be in that town under siege and defending it with all your heart against the bandits attack**

It is worth noting that this RP is set in a world inspired by 2kinds. THis means you can choose from 3 races when signing up a character: human, keidran, and bastin.

The special characters such as Ninazu are exceptions to the rules.

Further more. Although some of our characters are powered up, such as Foxen and Lillians shadow abilites these will not be available to those signing up. Not at first, it is very likely that you will aquire such abilites, or at least some kind of power up as the RP progresses. THis is to show that you are normal warriors/priests/carpenters/slavers/whatever you are when you first join up on this mission.

I don't know if I should join this.... I mean, Kilroy's the GM? That's just asking for habitual dissappearances., No, I don't mean this as a flame, I might actually join. God damn it, I need a twenty-five hour day for the RP pile-up now.

Don't worry. This is my favorite RP ever. This is the only reason I even returned to the board. If I vanish... I'll just give my characters to someone else for a while.

Because this thing should never die.

A good 5 times at least. Those were all fun.

Hopefully, we won't need to do that anywhere near as often this time. :p

hmm...I need to come up with a character I love like a son before I post one here. That's probably the only reason it lasted as long as it did.

Gender: Female

Age: 16 (was 15 in book 1)

Race: Human

Notable Interests and skills:

PRE ASR:BOOK 1
Skilled thief, good at hunting, gathering and fishing. Excels at stealth and infiltration, not to bad at lock picking either. Quick footed and nimble.

POST ASR:BOOK 1
Light knowledge of shadow powers. Can teleport using shadows, even in broad daylight. However, she is very young and has been rushed into the ability. Unbeknownst to her it is killing her every time she uses it.

She also has the ability to control Marrik, but she is unaware of it at the presnt time.

Weaknesses: Naive, brash and big mouthed. More often than not this gets her in big trouble. Not pshically that strong and not particular good at combat. Unable to use magic, or at least that is what it seems.

Appearance:

PRE ASR:BOOK 1
Red hair that she keeps covered with her hood most of the time due to her being teased about it when she was younger. Dark green hooded cloak, good for camo in the forests. It can be turned inside out where the colour is black, used for sneaking in the dark. Wears strong boots, the right one is where the sheath for hunting knife is kept. Brown pants and dark green top. Wears a small amulet with a blue stone, the stone glows when Keidran are near.

POST ASR: BOOK 1
Same red hair and cloak but now wears a black dress under it all, a gift from potenial love interest and her thieves guild mast Jinzo. She has kept the large boots and the entire getup can sometimes look odd.

Amulet is now in Ninazu's possession.

She has 3 scars on both sides of her neck from where Ninazu attacked her. They almost look like tiger strips but she doesn't like it when people notice them.

Generally carried items: Small hunting knife, short bow, and a small fishing rod. Backpack in which she keeps her tent and any goodies she may have nabbed.

Bio:

PRE ASR:BOOK 1
when travelling to a city her parents where ambushed by human bandits; she was separate from them as they ran from the attack. She was 5 years old.

She wandered for days looking for them until she was picked up by an older gentleman who took her in and treated her like a daughter. His two sons, John and Rodger (who changed his name Bane when he grew into a dragon slayer) hated her and constantly teased her about being a 'weak' girl and about her red hair.

Her only friend was a slave Keidran called 'Furby', a name the two boys had given him. When she learned that they planned to sell Furby she sneaked out at night and released him. Her adopted father was enraged and threw her out of his home telling her if she ever came back he would have her put in jail. She was 10, once more alone and from that day forward she rejected her last name, the one she was given by her adopted father, preferring to say she has no last name.

She moved around a lot, never able to settle in one place and when she couldn't afford any equipment she was forced to steal it. Soon she began to love stealing and even went as far as to break into a rich families home to have away with the Mistress' prized amulet, the same amulet she now wears around her neck. She has heard rumours that the rich family sent a merc after her to recover the stolen amulet, but thus far there has been no sign of one. Although she has tried many times, Lillian has never brave enough to go far in Keidran lands to find the only friend she had.

POST ASR:BOOK 1
Lillian fell intot he group by accident when she fell from a tree when spying on them. When they realised she wasn't a threat but instead a scared little girl.

She quickly bonded with the dragon Ninazu and despite knowing each other for a short amount of time they became very close.

Like the others she was imprisoned when Marrik caught wind of Bane's hunt for Ninazu. Not knowing the truth of her form step brothers involvment in the matter she was willing to go with him when he said he would get her out of jail.

He did get here out of jail, but her also used her as bait to lure Ninazu to his death. Although Bane was unsucessful, Lillian still balmes herself for what happend.

When the ordeal of fighting Bane took it's toll on Ninazu, he was sent feral for a short time and tried to kill Lillian. This hit home hard and she could no longer remain int he group when she was scared of her own best friend.

She left the group, and after she was caught by Bix pick pocketing she was dragged into the thieves guild. Master Jinzo took her under his wing and began teaching her the ways of shadow walking.

It was Jinzo who awakened Itzal, Lillians shadow. He believed her to be a student with much potentianl and power, but his judgment was off. Although it was proved that Lillian had great power inside, it was Itzal who truely controlled it.

After a freak attack by Malic on Jinzo Lillian used her powers for the first time and teleported Jinzo to safety, almost killing herself in the process.

When Bix tried to finish off Jinzo she took her on in the Knife masters own guild and if it wasn't for the intervention of Marrik Lillian would have most likely been killed.

While at the guild, Lillian was visited by Ninazu's adopted father who warned her of the young dragons downward spirial after she had left him. Fed up opf running away all her life Lillian returned to Ninazu, but to late.

In the battle Lillian was almost killed by Ninazu and even worse was left alone when she awoke, realising that Ninazu was gone.

Friends: Ninazu, Foxen, Luna, Jonah (deceased), Rick (unkown), Jack, Marrik, Jinzo

Enemies: Bane, Bix, Itzal (her shadow)

Phew, well that was a lot of info. I've editted my post from earlier so the summery is up. If you would like to know more info regaurd what else went on with the group then PM me and I'll pass on some more info.

I'm putting up my reservation on this RP. I'm really quite tempted to join. Just me minute to come up with a character.

Race: Fire Dragon
Notable Interests and skills: Master of Draconic magic, master of fire, good with light and shadow magic.
Weaknesses: Ninazu (kinda)
Appearance: Red dragon. Taught scales, and thinner wing membranes.
Generally carried items: Nothing
Bio: A bit of a notorious flirt. Still never found a girl for him. Meet Foxen along the line, the only Lesser Being he cared to actually interact with. Completely withdrew from the world when he found Ninazu. Spent the rest of the time raising the young dragon.
Friends: Ninazu, Foxen
Enemies: Doesn't care to interact with others.

Gender: Supposedly male
Age: Indeterminable
Race: Dark Dragon
Notable Interests and skills: Killing, manipulation, illusion, shadow "magic"
Weaknesses: Life, Ninazu, and that diamond.
Appearance: His form seems to eliminate light around him. His basic form is that of a dragon, but his features are difficult to determine until he infiltrates your mind.
Generally carried items: Nothing.
Bio: He arose from Ninazu when he was 30, and Ninazu was taught to seal him. Unfortunately, due to Ninazu's low abilities at this age, he was unable to do it himself. Feragon was forced to step in a seal the shadow quickly. The seal was imperfect, and always drained Ninazu of strength to keep him burried. When Ninazu fought Bane, he was able to break free.

The ensuing fight lead once again to his sealing, which was significantly weaker than it should have been. As such, Nergal still was able to influence Ninazu. He provoked Zu into a rage, destroying the town and managing to free himself in the process.
Friends: No one. MAYBE Nihi (you'll find out)
Enemies: Ninazu, and anyone that isn't dead.

I need to edit Zu's profile a bit as well, but I'll do that later.
