HIGH ORBIT OVER NINTEN II

All was silent from the bridge of the colony ship, Gibraltar aside the hums and bleeps of the consoles throughout the room. There was a sense of tension all around, everyone's faces stern with a feeling of intent and notion, for ahead of their ship lie the outer reaches of the desolate satellite station, PFS-344. Its ruined exterior visible in the reflection of light coming off the planet below.

"Commodore, we're positioned in the neutral zone, awaiting your orders to enter Ninten II airspace.", spoke a husky voiced helmsman.

"What are the conditions of the planet?", inquired the scruffy bearded commodore from the deep seat.

"Distance from parent star: 1.14 AUs. Planetary axis: 34.6. Surface temperatures currently read 7 Celsius. Air composition: 5% Neon, 4% Oxygen, 8% Nitrogen, 2% dust particles and ash. The low Nitrogen in the atmosphere causes very unstable seasonal conditions. There's also a great amount of seismic activity just below the surface. There are three main continents, but at the rate of things, one of them will divide soon into 4 major islands.", called the analyst, A young woman with thin, blonde hair that hung straight from her head. She appeared calm in her work aside from the rest of the crew.

The Commodore mumbled something under his breath, tilting his head down. He stood up, surveying his crew and spoke. "Set a course for the surface... Increase surrounding shields by 10%. Engage sensory array for a full wide scan of the planet to find any humanoid life forms and find if they are sentient or possess any access to radiowave technology."

"Rodger."

06:48 HOURS
SURFACE OF NINTEN II

Sharp, howling winds blew over a charred and desolate part of the remains of a small city. The flames were long since dead, but their damage appeared evident, as if the scene was etched in stone. Wisps of ash and dust curled into the air, an asphalt road littered with the remains of cars and buildings. From the distance, a figure was approaching the city's ruins, no better, running. All that could be seen was his silhouette against the thin, blood red rays of the sun. The sky was still lit a dark purple with small flakes of frost beginning to fall from above.

A few street lights were still functioning along the ash paved highway, some flickering as if complimenting the bleak appeal of the ruins and dark morning sky. A glint of something metallic flickered with every foot step of the figure from it's back. The figure was now becoming visible in the harsh, white, light of the street lamps. It was a young man, his head covered in a mop of shades of gold and brown spikes. His eyes were a glimmering blue which were noticeable inspite of the dark, cold morning and shameful amount of light. Almost as if they glowed. On his back was a sword, shining steel. The young man was dressed in dark clothing which was adorned in shining steel plates and zippers all over.

He bent over to catch his breath from his long ended run to the ruins, surveying the sight around him. "Am I too late..?", he thought to himself, kicking at a long forgotten milk carton next to some black, rotten, food covered by a dusty old plastic bag. "Have the Enders really taken this world?", he wondered aloud, looking up to see the rest of the city.

Massive craters dotted the land, a jet was smashed into an office tower, Machinas lay in heaps or are scattered in severed parts everywhere along with crushed vehicles and the like. Most of all, a large, transparent dome in the distance was ahead, a large section of it missing and a cran ran down the side. More ruined buildings could be made out based on the shape of the structures within it.

Races available

Earthling: Was once a dweller of Sol III. Possesses average capabilities of a human.

Terran: Planet wandering human. Highly adaptable to extreme conditions.

Nintenian: Dweller of Ninten. Possesses higher endurances and immunity to most poisons and toxic substances, allowing them to endure the atmospheric conditions of their world. Appears human-like, but distinguished by white skin markings and patterns on their tanned bodies.

Einhasan: An ancient race that once existed on Ninten almost 4000 years ago. Wielded unusual influence over crystals and some metals. They look rabbit-like in appearance while bearing a few humanoid qualities such as walking upright and being able to use their front paws as hands. They were also some of the most advanced engineers of Ninten. Rumor has it that they still exist in small colonies around Ninten.

Mezian: Brusque, egotistical, and dominantly powerful people of Ninten. Their bodies are use to extreme conditions and have an incredible threshold for pain. They're built very burly and muscular and look much like a human, but are distinguished by their small, nub-like horns and pointed ears. They're very vulnerable to sonic waves and high frequencies as the bones in their ears are extremely sensitive.

Limits on Equipment

Right now, if you are from Ninten, you wont be armed with anything more than either a very light, low ammo gun or some type of melee weapon like a knife or blade.

There are many things you have have as far as weapons go. Infact, you are welcome to come up with any non-mechanical weapon design your character fights with, but only as long as it doesn't require any mechanics or electronic powering.

You can also salvage things if you need, but don't take anything that can slow you or the party down. Keep things minimal. It's difficult to salvage anything out of the wreckage, son don't expect to get a major haul in things to customize or sell.

WPN PREF.: His weapon is of one of his own making. It looks like an average good sized gun but the metal around it is different and the ammo that it uses are of the 2 crystals he has.
ORIGIN: Ninten
APPEARANCE: He is a little bit shorter then the normal Einhasan. The fur that he has on his body are mainly black except his forearms and face, these are of a dark blue because of somethings going wrong with his inventing.
PERSONALITY: He is very excitable. He is likes anything new that he can tinker with.

PERSONALITY: He's silent most of the time. He takes every fight and flight serious, even the routine ones. He can be selfish, but will be completely loyal..if he gets paid.

This is the OOC/Sign Up. Heh... Honestly, I just made this whole RP up as I typed it. No driving motivation or concept.

As for the age thing, you can use the current year as a reference. Like for instance, yours DOB would be 2276AD - 253 SD.

EDIT: If need be, you can simply adjust the DOB field to AGE if finding your year takes too long.

As for where Terrans come from, most of the time, the come from a totally different world, but mostly from space stations or Habitation Centers.

A round symbol on his jacket shows the old Pan Galactic Federation crest. Has brilliant blue eyes that seems to draw people's attention.
PERSONALITY: Active, outgoing, and high spirited with the drive to fight for Ninten. He's known nothing but battle all his life and can become very protective, even if it costs his life just to save someone.

PERSONALITY: Calm, cool, and collective. This woman has seen the flames of battle many times and has grown use to urgent and stressful situations. Can seem a bit insensitive at times, but more over humorous in a bad situation, giving her a witty sense of charm.

APPEARANCE: Kharne's build could best be described as a tank. He stands only 4 foot 7 inches, but weighs nearly 200 pounds. He also resembles the dwarves of ancient Human lore. He has grown a bread that furthers this resemblence. His long brown hair has been braided in with his bread, lending him a shaggy apperance. He wears loose fitting clothing. Typically it looks ditry, ragged or old, but provides confort and ease of movement. His face has several scars from various wounds as does his compact body.
PERSONALITY: He claims to be born for battle and bred for war. Few would disagree with him. He fights not for any particular cause, but for the thrill of warfare. Blunt and to the point few people get along with him. He'll boast about his prowess, and if you care to dispute it he'll fight you. Any high, lofty ideals fall on deaf ears. He carees nto why he fights so logas he does. The easiest way to dedal with him is to promise killing later.

I will be working on a game encyclopedia as we go on through the game. If you have something to add, please by all means, let me know. This post will be edited frequently to update the encyclopedia.

If you find any of the content to be too far read into, also let me know so as to change it exactly to how everyone wants it. I may try to throw in some character lines just for extensive sake. If they aren't to your liking,
let me know. Finally, if there's any information regarding a character's history or abilities that don't match or are not to your liking, you know what to do.

I. People

. Daena Myst: An Earthling and former judge of the higher council, Tribunate of the United Earth Directorate. She had joined an investigation agency known as SIGA, Specialized Intelligence Gathering Agency to continue her path in criminal and political justice. She left the Tribunate for their harsh punishment laws for wayward individuals, wishing not to be the one to decide life or death. She signed with the PGF in order to investigate the recent unusual activity coming from Ninten II.
She's incredible in tactics and marksmanship for someone her age and possesses a wide array of knowledge in ballistics firearms. She is also well versed in alchemy and the production of advanced forms of gun powder as well as fielding in compounding medical goods while on the travel.

. Elliot M Andrews, Lt.: A crew member of a Pan Galactic Federation colony ship, Gibraltar. Her father, Commodore, Enrik M Andrews has been an influential guide for her all her life. She has followed him into the PGF since becoming of age, aspiring to become captain of her own fleet someday. She takes great interest in aviation, astronomic technology and is known within the crew to be very creative in terms of engineering. Her father however, fears for her safety and wishes she'd not join the Federation.

. Enrik M Andrews, Comm.: A shaggy bearded man in his late 40s who has been apart of the Federation since his early high school days. Being from the academy gave him many benefits and he quickly rose in rank. He also fought in the war against Inderia and still to this day fights as he commands his fleet through space to settle new colonies so that his daughter may settle down and have his grandchildren. He is a loving father who would sooner face death than lose Elliot, his one and only child.

. Gomez Biggs, Sgt.: A strange individual who has an ardent interest in Elliot Andrews. He has reports on his file of being a discipline issue on other crafts he's been assigned on. He also seems to have a connection with Captain Marius.

. James N. Marius, Capt.: One of the fellow captains on board the Gibraltar. Is said to be from a special division and is an administrator of a sub-organization called Rios.

. Jack Kit: A young and eccentric Einhasan inventor who wanders from region to region, collecting parts and technology to engineer powerful equipment and weapons. Though a little flaky at times, he is extremely handy and resourceful, specializing in machine repairs and customizing as well as having a vast knowledge in physics.
He is distinguishable for his uncanny dark fur color and blue colorations throughout is fur. This was the result of a weapons testing and experimenting gone wrong, but he shows no care for his unusual looks. Says "it gives me character".

. Khain A Gladius: A mysterious and brusque man. He is a paid mercenary and ex pilot of the Federation. He was dropped from the Federation for reasons unknown to everyone else. Little is known about this well fit individual who's purpose is to seek opportunity where every the boss is paying.

. Kharne, the Axe: A burly and powerful Mezian from Norden. One could say he's built like a short, unmovable mountain given his muscular, yet surprisingly short stature. Those who have pointed this out however have never faced pain more worse than what he deals. His purpose in the world almost seems to be entirely for war and combat, for he has only known war all his life, fighting those who threaten his region with the might of his pig iron axe. "Live for the hunt, die by my swift might! That's the rules!" A motto he has followed since childhood.

. Mesia Alkari: A quiet woman and caretaker of a small western village called Undi. She's a single mother of a young man named Reidix. She's cared for him in a liberal and free way, developing his open minded and free spirited attitude.
Locals believe her to be disturbed, possibly insane. The locals threatened to throw her out during one morning when she saw the first of the Ender's celestial vessels, screaming in terror that the legend is true. There after, she became very silent and within the week, she was the mother of the small child, Reidix.

. Mika: A warrior Nintenian who fights with daggers. Brought in care by Khain Gladius. Little is known about this young woman at this time.

. Reidix Alkari: A bold and fun loving youth. He is distinguishable for his wild, golden and brown toned hair. He expresses much care for the innocent and undefended, so he prizes himself to go from region to region and provide assistance in the fight against the Enders. He is known
to some as the Golden Legionnaire for his adept movement and fighting on the field of battle.
Little is known of his origin however. "He came from the sky", says his mother, but they she keeps very secretive to herself. Most believe she's insane and wonder the same about Reidix. He strangely shows no resemblance to his mother and there was never a father in the family, so he is left to wonder of his past as he fights on.

. Sarra M. Fielding: A young colleague of Tyler Kenneth. She is the assistant analyst and is regularly seen paired with Tyler like a sister. Some of the other officers spread rumors that the two in fact have something more for each other than as co-workers.

. Tyler J. Kenneth, MCPI: A hardened man despite never being involved in any true combat action. He commands a small, four man division (G Division) on-board the Gibraltar, and has garnered a fearsome amount of loyalty and respect from each member of his division through his results, experience and utter devotion to his team and his job. He is often sarcastic, patronizing and rough to anyone that he might have to charge or lock up, but takes every job - be it a thieving crew member or a violent assault on an officer very seriously. He is still fairly sarcastic with his co-workers, but respects them as equals and friends rather than simply people he works with. Hates being in space with every waking hour, and hates being in a war while in space even more. Reads in his spare time, but is rapidly running out of old Philip K. Dick books to occupy himself with.

II. Places / Planets
[==============================================================================================]

. Sol III: Better known as Earth. Home world to human beings who achieved space technological power in 2023 AD. They were the original creators of the Pan Galactic Federation and now have spread out through 34 % of the Milky Way Galaxy.

. Ninten II: Home world of several humanoid races. A suspected home to an Inderian citadel which the PGF pursues. Little is known about this world, but the looks of the situation on the surface, a dramatic war as been taking the planet by storm, wiping out cities in minimal time.
Its atmosphere is based mostly of oxygen, but contains a possibly dangerous amount of carbon in the air, approximately 2%. This thin haze has caused the planetary climate to begin showing signs of a possible cold year. As the wars continue, the dust levels rise and soon, the planet may be plunged into an ice age.

. Norden: A northern region on the continent of Trann. It is a mountainous, frigid region that is covered in dense forests of evergreen, dotted with small settlements where Einhasans once lived before they disappeared. Now, only two cities remain in this region. Armstrong and Verapool.

. Sonrei: One of the four prime continents on Ninten. This once peaceful continent was overwhelmed by the Enders assault and was left in ruin. It was also home to many of the Inderian cities which provided help for the natives of the regions.
The continent was known best for its lush and tropical environment, covered in a thick carpet of green. Now it is left to ruin and much of it turned into a wasteland and dotted by blackened, destroyed cities.

. Taltham: A small town northwest of the ruins of Trann Dome. It was established in 2249 AD as a mining town for its rich deposits in copper ore and iron and has been a key supplier of such raw materials to the advanced cities that once thrived nearby.

. Trann: One of the four prime continents on Ninten. It is the last of the continents left with civilization on it since the Enders' attack. The region has been plagued with an ominous layer of dust, causing many of the people there illness. Famine has hit many of the regions here, so fighters are needed to reclaim the ruined cities that the Enders have attacked.

III. Events / Beliefs

. Day of the Enders: 2281 AD. The Enders had arrived on Ninten II, destroying a small Mezian village. A shower of fire and light signaled this call of arms and the war against the Enders ensued.

. Era of Red Suns: 2283 AD. After a short few years, the destruction created by the Enders began impacting the planet itself. Countless cities and lives were lost and the ash of war had began clouding the skies across Ninten II. This resulted in the first cold years and the first signs of an approaching ice age. The age was first signified by the red morning sunrises caused from the film of ash in the atmosphere, tinting the sun red and the sky purple.

. Gibraltar: Built in 2290 AD. One of the 300 series ships to be used to settle in regions only previously reconned. The Gibraltar's target is the surface of the distant star system, Ninten.
Given the time they'll be expected to be out in Ninten, the ship was outfitted with a research lab, a recreation plaza, an environment simulation court, and a special set of contemporary apartments in the colonists' sector of the ship, sector B.
The ship is divided up into 5 sectors, sectors A through E. A being the Upper Deck where most of the commands and military personnel stay. B is the civilian's block. C is the technical research center as well as where medical is managed, D is the cargo sector where all the supplies for settling the first city as well as survival for the ship's passengers is. E is the mechanical sector where the ship's engines and generators are housed. All electrical system can be operated from there as well as some within the A sector.
Altogether, the ship holds 4,000 passengers and 30 FEMPS units.

. Earthling: Was once a dweller of Sol III. Possesses average capabilities of a human.

. Inderian: A form of Terran who live mainly on Inderia Prime, somewheres in the Vela Sector.

. Mezian: Brusque, egotistical, and dominantly powerful people of Ninten. Their bodies are use to extreme conditions and have an incredible threshold for pain. They're built very burly and muscular and look much like a human, but are distinguished by their small, nub-like horns and pointed ears. They're very vulnerable to sonic waves and high frequencies as the bones in their ears are extremely sensitive.

. Nintenian: Dweller of Ninten. Possesses higher endurances and immunity to most poisons and toxic substances, allowing them to endure the atmospheric conditions of their world. Appears human-like, but distinguished by white skin markings and patterns on their tanned bodies.

. Terran: Planet wandering human. Highly adaptable to extreme conditions. Similar to an earthling, but born on another word or within space. Most are put under physical training during childhood so they boast more power than the average human.

V. Terms
[==============================================================================================]

. Clarke's Principle: A term that refers to the formula method in achieving faster than light travel. This method has been applied in the technology of gravitic warp, PHHCs, and some phase weapons.
His principle states that through electron manipulation and fusion acceleration, you can increase the power of an atom to an unstable level right down to the sub quarks. This then transforms the matter into energy that can be projected faster than light itself. The control of the method however has been unsuccessful until 2250 when he could finally contain this energy and test its speed when released in a spherical room during the 2250 AD Science Fair on Earth.

. Cold Years: A term used to refer to the possible comings of an ice age. signified by falling temperatures globally, a dark haze across over 60% of the planet's atmosphere, and frequent blizzards in unexpected regions. 5 years is deemed the threshold for cold years.

. Judgment: The act of being read your final rights before an Ender and it's action. No one ever lives after they are judged though hand therefore is more commonly referred to as execution.

. The Great Swordsman Revolution: In 2284 AD, the councilmen of 7 different regions all made plans for the fight against the Enders. Due to the manipulation of technological weapons the Enders had, a decision had been made that fighters were to train in the art of swordsmanship, Heraldry, and engineering of non-electronic weapons. This lead to a breakthrough in advances of melee weapons, Heraldry based guns, and explosive ballistics. This gave the people of Ninten II a slight headway in fighting the Enders as they do no posses influence over heraldry or simple raw materials.

. Faster Than Light: A term used to refer to a device which is capable of transmitting energy or data faster than light. This type of technology was first invented by Charles M. Clarke in 2250 AD.

VI. Objects of Interest
[==============================================================================================]

. Crystal(s): In 2231, minerals were discovered to have energetic properties residing within their composite signatures. The amount of energy found within them varies and is capable of being used as a battery system for small electrical devices. Use of these is still considered experimental and not a significant source of energy in replacement for the current engine systems of vehicles.
It is believed that the folk of Ninten II use these to replace failed power sources for lost electronic devices. Since the energy given off by minerals differs than that of electrical static, they can be used much like phase devices. Nintenian forces have been known to power electronic equipment from the ruins as weapons with minerals and have been proven effective in the fight against Enders.

. G Division: A small, selected squad in part of the MCS (Military Police Sect) that governs and maintains order amidst the crew members on board a military vessel. The Gibraltar possesses 8 different divisions, from A to H. The G Division is specially under Tyler Kenneth's command.

. F.E.M.P.S. : Full Environment Mechanical Power Suits. Massive mechanized suits used for construction, maintainence, and warfare.

. Gibraltar: See in "Places / Planets".

. IPTC: Inter-Planetary Transport Cruisers; small military grade transport that supports the PGF with cargo supplies and land vehicle deployment.

. Machina: Latin terms for Machine; Machina is a term used by Nintenians to large mechanical robots piloted by a single individual.

. M7A-73F :Standard military grade pulse rifle. Engineered in 2273 AD and used for its quick functionality and instant recharge method. It is capable of firing 34 waves per minute and is powerful enough to blast through 0.33 inches of galvanized steel. It is classed as military grade given due to it being one of the first Faster-Than-Light based weapons.

. Phase Weapons: A type of firearm that uses overcharged ions which gain a new wave length under a pseudo-pattern called phasons to fire exponentially powerful pulses of energy. First developed in 2259 AD.

. PHHC : Personal Hand Held Computer; a small device that projects photosensitive holographic screens that act as a personal computer. Capable of sending, receiving, and creating data through a multi-partition database that directly links to the PGF Network Administration. First designed in 2141 AD.
Later upgrades were released year after year until the production was halted and later coupled with a 2 way internet system that was partly ran by the PGF.

. Recyclic Converter: A small hydrogen recycling energy capacitor that operates on a synergy flux system that converts hydrogen into a powerful energy source. Once the resource is used, the remains are then put through a technical process call trans-alchemical restoration where it is restored as steam and hydrogen.
Its only flaw is that it needs a petroleum substance in order to initialize the machine, but the amount required is only a mere 200 ml. Passed by the EPA in 2104 AD.
In 2199, a heavily improved edition of the machine was released, replacing the older model. Its initialization required no fossil fuels, only a simple turn on a rotor generator which if continuously spun, will generate 12.6% more energy per every 10 applied Newtons. The late model also was equipped with a solar fan system that could collect solar energy and use solar wind to turn the rotor.

. T99 XA Oxygen Filters: A small, collar shaped device used to purify the air around the wearer, filtering out harmful dust particles and thin amounts of harmful gases.

. Windmill Turbine: An adaptation of the Recyclic Converter used on Ninten II. It uses a simple windmill's fans to turn the rotor, enabling its functionality.

Indeed. A lot of thought has gone into this, and I'm nothing if not a man that likes his intelligent RPs. ;)
That said, mind if I join? I have an idea for another ship and crew you may be interested in; one to back up the Gibraltar, to be precise. Although I did notice you saying that there was only one place left - a place that has been filled, I believe. Fair enough, but my previous RP went nowhere before I had a chance to join, which was slightly annoying... and then this beauty pops up. I can understand not being aloud to add another ship and crew at this point, so in the meantime, I'll just post a a back-up character to add to the Gebraltars crew. Should you accept the new ship, disregard the following character (I'll PM you the details of the ship and crew so you can add it encyclopedia if need be).

WPN PREF.: Due to the heavy weapon regulations aboard military and civilian IPTCs (Inter-Planetary Transport Cruisers) and colonies, ballistic weapons are forbidden on-ship, unless properly quarantined. As such, special phase weapons are issued to all high ranking and MP personal. In this case, the M7A Focused Beam/Bolt Pistol. Tyler is also fairly familiar with various ballistic weaonry due to his planet-side training and own interest in said weaponry.
ORIGIN:: Earth
APPEARANCE: Dark blonde (slightly grey around the ears), short cut hair that he rarely ever styles, a vague whisper of a goatee around his mouth, and blunt features lend him a somewhat worn appearance. Medium build, about 5'10", and suprisingly fit considering his constant residence off-world. Wears his MPCI uniform (dark blue collared shirt with long sleeves, grey trousers; black, silver-buckled leather belt; neat, black, hard-wearing shoes; rank band worn around the left arm) in a slightly casual style, with the long sleeves folded up just below his elbows. M7A holster is positioned firmly at his left side (left handed), attached to his belt, with the small pistol always present within.
PERSONALITY: A hardened man despite never being involved in any true combat action. He commands a small, four man division (G Division) on-board the Gibraltar, and has garnered a fearsome amount of loyalty and respect from each member of his division through his results, experience and utter devotion to his team and his job. He is often sarcastic, patronising and rough to anyone that he might have to charge or lock up, but takes every job - be it a thieving crewmember or a violent assault on an officer - very seriously. He is still fairly sarcastic with his co-workers, but respects them as equals and friends rather than simply people he works with. Hates being in space with every waking hour, and hates being in a war while in space even more. Reads in his spare time, but is rapidly running out of old Philip K. Dick books to occupy himself with...

There you go, and consider him a minor character, seeing as he spends all his time on-ship. Should you accept him, that is.

Good character, however, I do not think there will be much of the people getting back on the ship. There may be a single brief period where they're on board, but nothing extensive.

Heh, no problem. Like I said, he's a minor character, and 'ill mostly just plod about the ship trying to find things to do. Now that most of the crew's gone he's got no-one to cause problems, so his job's on hold, much to his dislike. You could say that he's more of a distraction from the no doubt hell razing outside.

Oh, and by the way, have you considered adding the Gibraltar to the encyclopedia? I'm imagining a Pillar of Autumn size landing ship here...

Hmm, good idea. It's not exactly that large. Maybe about 130 meters in length, 80 in width. I'll be updating the Encyclopedia later on tonight.
