Manatu noticed the vegatation, he couldn't help but just watch it, "It seems like its been forever since i've seen something besides sand." He could still feel Sabbia resting on him, he still couldn't understand why her brother seemed to hate him so much.

Picking up the handset he chuckled, "Will do. I know *I* could use a rest...bet we all could."

Alrighty, this is to move things along, if you feel something beforehand needs to be addressed, just start your post there, and end it with the camping.

Telki stretched her back, hearing several vertebrae pop into place. It felt good to get out and smell greenery again. She was glad they were able to make this campsite, it was one of her favorites. A rocky pool was close, with a miniature waterfall just right for bathing, a sheltered nook for sleeping, with piles of soft bedding available in the form of thick spongey moss and ferns, and some of the most delicious mushrooms she'd ever tasted to spice up cooking. Hrmm, it was actually early enough that she could spend time fixing a full meal for a change. If the local population of deer were cooperative. "Hey Ama, up to doing a little hunting for supper?"

"Am I ever! Especially if you are going to be foraging what I think you'll be foraging." Ama grinned widely. The last time Telki cooked here was memorable to say the least. It had to be one of her favorites.

"I'll even remember the cattail roots, deal?" Telki smiled at her cousin. That grin was infectious.

"Deal!" Ama always felt she got the better end of these meal deals. All she had to do was walk through the trees until a deer presented itself for the taking. Poor Telki was going to be grubbing in calf deep mud for cattail roots.

For her part, Telki was chuckling at the sympathy/glee she saw on her cousin's face. She knew how much Ama hated muck, but what her cousin didnt' know was how quickly those roots were gathered, the rest of the time Telki spent lounging in the pool and waterfall.

As they set up camp, Yan lifted a sleeping Sabbia and set her down on a free bedroll carefully. After tucking her in tightly, Yan forced her jaws open slightly and squeezed some medicinal paste into her mouth. She managed to swallow it without waking, and Yan got to his feet, leaving the cleaned sword in its scabbard beside Sabbia. He looked up to see the signore delle bande talking, then Ama seemed to leave in order to hunt; probably for their food. Yan jogged to catch up with her then slowed to match her pace.

"Would you like me to help you? I am a very good hunter, though I may stand out in such... green... scenery." He readjusted the composite bow across his back and checked his knife at his hip. "I believe I still need to repay you for taking care of my sister."

Manatu looked around the the area, he didn't feel very comfortable in such an enviroment. He was used to being in a more open land. He sat down and looked around more.

Seth couldn't help but find enjoyment in the new landscape. He was even more happy that that as long as he stayed with these people he'd beable to get into the holy city, where he could start the phase of his plan.

"Oh, thank you Yan! Though you could hardly stand out more around here than I do." She gestured at her pale fur and hair. "The deer around here are rarely hunted by bipeds, so they're not as wary as they ought to be. For that matter, we can find a likely tree on a game trail, and wait in the boughs." Ama walked in companionable silence with Yan, keeping her eyes peeled for a likely spot. "There, that's what we need. See the marks on the tree, and the velvet left hanging there? We can pick a spot in the branches, and simply shoot the next one that walks under us."

Telki was quite pleased with herself. Her grubbing expedition yielded not only cattail roots, but some watercress, water chestnuts, her mushrooms, and some herbs and ingredients. All she needed now, was her lovely soak, and for Ama to return with her catch.

None of the others had yet felt up to exploring past the immediate campsite, so she felt free enough to strip down before diving into the pool. Oh, the cool water felt so marvelous. She kicked and floated for a while, before pulling out her scented soap, and scrubbing down. She felt she still probably had plenty of time to float just a little longer.

The area smelled, fresh and alive. Not like the desert. Not dry and empty. This was the first impression that I took from the area. I turned and looked around me. The scenery here was more vibrant than I was used to. I could only assume that where we were headed was going to be even more green. The thought of leaving the desert was sort of depressing. Out in the trackless wastes, there was space and openness. This wasn't a jungle by an sense, but I was feeling crowded and closed in. Especially by the trees. Normally, the only things that tall were the drab buildings of a city. The sprawling leafy canopy was almost enough to keep me on edge. I noticed Telki returning from her foraging, and head off to do something else. I sat in the center of the open area, and tried to relax.
