Right then.
THE FIRST WORLD
It's not entirely clear how the universe and Gods came to be. Many gods proclaim to be the one true god, the father of all the others, etc, etc. As far as the historical evidence shows, all are lying through their teeth. The evidence left over from the first world demonstrates this.
From what we can gather, the world as we know it is a rather new creation of the gods, and is not more than a few million years old. The world before that is known as "The First World." Few artifacts from that period remain, because not long after civilization arised, two gods chanced across the world. They were Thascal and the Demur, gods of Chaos and Law. They got into a fight. Both died. There wasn't that much life left afterwards.
The other gods, upon coming across the steaming hellhole and few living things that were left, got to work making stuff. The combined efforts of the other gods have left the remains of Thascal and Demur buried beneath the earth and locked inside the moon, respectively.
Summary:
The world existed for a while, Thascal and Demur ran upon it, they fought, people died, they died, the other gods found it, they buried Thascal and Demur, they made the world as it is now.
Now, OOC information, the kind of thing that nobody except the gods would know in-game.
The gods are incredibly powerful beings representing cosmic forces. They gain power through followers, and because the world was split between them, Thascal and Demur were turned into ridiculously powerful beings who could easily destroy lesser gods. Gods can also come into being if a new race is created. A key example of this is the creation of vampires by the god of the undead leading to the birth of the Scarlet Mistress. A possible game would be to have the players be gods or demi-gods trying to work together and gain followers.
So yeah, those are the basic rules that gods follow, along with the creation of the world. I'll get to work on some other members of the pantheon. And remember that well Thascal is definitely not a good person to meet, that doesn't mean Demur is any better. Give me some time and i'll do the basics of magic.
