It's an IRC room, if there's any difference.

Yes there is, because the NightStar Java client... isn't very desirable.

You would have a better experience with another client.

Even something like Mibbit.

I personally use x-chat 2. I find it to be simple & easy to use. You can get it at http://www.silverex.org/download/

As for the actual irc stuff, you should connect to irc.nightstar.net.
It's the actual 'proper' server to join, (it's behind a load balancer so all the servers stay evenly loaded), so the server you'll end up on would actually be something else (I'm currently connected to troika.tx.usnightstar.net)

After that, (if you're using x-chat at least), a window should popup asking you what channel to join. Type in twokinds, and click ok. And you're connected to the 2kinds irc channel. :)

Also, these commands should work on any irc client to get you online:
/server irc.nightstar.net
/join #twokinds
/nick <your_desired_nickname>

And with that, I'll bet this is moving to the tech board.

I used mIRC a lot before this forum ate up all my attention, :)

I'm not so keen on the 2kinds IRC channel, though. Very drab, dry, and I figure I already have WLM with half the forum on my friends list... bleh, I'm good.

It keeps using Applet.
I can't do Applet cause I got Windows and an invalid bytecode.

No IRC for me
