When looking back at the old comics, a lock of Natani's hair was grey, going over her right eye -which is also grey-. Now, she doesn't have it anymore? How come?

The grey eye was enough? It was probably just evolution of the character design.

I figured that. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't something important about it.

I thought it was a scar... :?

Then that's a weird scar O.o

i thougt it whas a simbol of the link she has with her brother!

an the changes where made because the distaance betwen them, phisical and psicological (as the link broke, the love she felt for keith, grow)

If I'm not mistaken, this has been brought up before, and the grey steak appeared whenever Natani was using magic; she just hasn't used any recently (at least not 'on screen').

I'm more about why would an assassin have such long hair. Really it would get in the way and the whole "male' thing...

Sable's got it. The gray streak in Natani's hair appears when she's "charged" with magic.

Though bugger all, the only mention I can find of it is me insisting it's the case. <frown> I'm going to keep looking. If I find the reference, I'll note it.

I'm pretty sure it's part of Natani's general complex. She admits that it's a pain to take care of and gets in the way, but it's also a part of her identity that she's unwilling to let go. The flashback when she cut it made it clear that doing so was very hard on her, and I'm not surprised that she's unwilling to cut it again. Besides, look at all the Keidran we've seen -- they rarely cut their hair, male or female. Long hair doesn't provide a very useful indication of sex among Keidran.

Actually, I just realized - reading though some of the comics again - that Natani's hair is one of the feminine things that she keeps - consciously or otherwise...

That one time she, herself, wonders exactly why she doesn't just cut it off - despite it being more of a hassle - may indicate that she still observes a deep desire to openly be female.

She did say she'd grow it back once she got into the Magi Brotherhood, in that flashback....

Yes, but I believe her 'condition' devloped over time. I don't think she ever predicted her mental state would become so confused...especially at that point.

Considering that the accident with Zen was a huge contribution to the depth of confusion she's reached, yeah, I'd say it's fair to assume she never thought she'd end up like this. She'd intended just to disguise herself to get in; she probably didn't think things through much further than that. The accident with Zen made the disguise something else. Tom's implied that she quite nearly died, and it was the link, leaning on Zen's persona projected into her, that let her survive the incident. When she finally was able to stand on her own again, she didn't know quite who she was anymore. I'm sure a part of her attachment to her hair is simple nostalgia -- it reminds her of her life separate from Zen, that she had and has her own life. I believe she keeps it for more reasons than that, but I believe that's part of it.
