Nice page, it shows the complete story of Trace with his loved one.
I bet she gets killed by a keidran and makes Trace go coconuts.

That poor doggy slave girl... being in the middle of a couple's arguement (or the subject) isn't fun at all. I think I know what will make her happy  By having her make me a sandwhich!.... What? Oh please, you know that you were thinking the same thing... right?

I'm loving the second panel with the winter background. Very well done.

I love the this comic. The Winter and Fall colors are awesome. It is nice to know that Saria did not have the same views that other humans had about Keidran (poor doggy, scratches behind her ear).

That frame of Saria's and Trace's wedding is really well done! Just as excellent as the shot of Nora two weeks ago, I'd say.

Very interesting. It seems quite a few questions might get answered in these pages really :)

Was Saria angry at the fact that Trace was bringing a slave into the house because she didn't believe in slavery? Or did she just not want to be near a keidran?

It was neither, actually. I know I give the impression that she was against slavery, but in truth very few of the time were, as slavery was just a normal part of human and Keidran daily life. Though keeping a slave of the same race was a crime, keeping another race as slave labor was perfectly acceptable. Really, Saria does not want a slave in the house doing work she could do herself. She grew up as lower-middle class and prefers to take care of herself, rather then let others take care of her. I actually wrote out their argument in the scripts, but they were cut due to lack of space. They basically described how Trace wished to keep up appearances with the other nobles and how Saria did not care what anyone else thought about her.

Don't get me wrong, though. Saria is by her nature a very kind character. She is an idealist and might have gone out of her way to see the world through the eyes of other people. But abolishing slavery is still quite a ways off in the minds of both races.

There are a third possibility. She didn't want a female slave in the house. She said that Tracestill had the same impression on Keidran and in this page it was easy to see that Flora was heart broken by what was saying Trace. Maybe he charismatic enouhg to make the keidran fall easilly in love with him and Saria was afraid to by the competition. Okay, I don't really believe that, she seem more like the kind of person to be against slavery but we can't reduce our poll of possibilities now.

La jalousie est caché dans le coeur de tous les humains.

S.P.P.

Thanks for the answer Tom. Wish I had thought about her backround before posting and saved some bandwith, but thinking is always low on my list of priorities. It's a good trait for her, ties in well with the events Trace is going through now in his dealings with keidran; to have a past lover prefer to do housework instead of a slave.

Maintaining quite the impressive level of story-telling, keep it up. :D
