I don't know if this has come up already but with all these names I always wonder... how do you SAY that?

Seeing how it's manga-style (and that my mother-language is German, which has similar pronounciation of the letters) I always went for a japanese approach.
Like, I always say it like this:

Keidran : Key- (like hey) -drahn (like Khan)
Basitin : Buh-See-tin
Natani: Nuh-Tuh-Nee

Can't think of others that aren't painfully obvious... Euchre is like You-Kreh right?

How about you?
We can quarrel all day long how it's right! ^,,^
Well, until Tom sheds light on the matters, that is...

This has (to some extent; as there was no debate over the pronunciations of Basitin or Natani) been dealt with on the FAQ Board.

As for those, <shrug> I pronounce them as written. Being as I have a French last name which has been Americanized, I'm pretty used to simply applying English pronunciation rules whenever there's doubt.

Basitin : Ba-sit-in
Natani : Na-ta-ni
But maybe that's because Natani's name reminds me vaguely of my mother's (Talana); having a simple spelling but a pronunciation that, while easy, elegant, and seemingly obvious, most people will be incapable of figuring out.

Let's see, I'd trascribe my pronunciation of the names as

Keidran: KEEd-rin (i=open front unrounded vowel aproxomation)

Basitin: BAss(i)-tin/teen [(i)=schwa, or, as I think of it, shva]

Natani: Na-tAh-nee

Euchre: eOO-kray

Euchre is based on the word Euchre- which means it is pronounced as Yoo-kor or Yoo-ker

Hello all,

Either way I think that the wording and the way the words are said are elgeant as avwolf said ... honestly I think however Tom and any of his friends who help with his comic want to say the wording is fine ... either way I have no say in it and if i can understand it then they have done the job they set themselfs to ^^

thank you very much, Belzeber

Were the words thought of as vocal combonations, or did they originate as spellings?

So we know Keidran and Euchre (by the way, that last e in "Euchre" is only minimally pronounced, being a schwa [at least in the word]), but can't we discuss the other words in the comic?

Euchre is a card game? Does anyone here play it?
