Somehow, I fail to think that those strips of cloth would hold anyone, though that is a possibility of what's running through Mike's head.

Which still begs the question: What else might be dreaded about strips of cloth? What's running through Mike's head? Could be bandages... Could be ... something else that requires the sopping up of blood and is related to being female. *coughcough*

Or Mike's just realizing exactly what those strips *are* used for, and is realizing that Natani's been female a lot longer than they thought.

I like how Mike's black-tipped hair looks. It's very nice.

Oyoyoy. Another naked Nat scene. Can Tom fit any more into the comic without revealing to the rest of them that Nat's really a girl? And as for what's going through Mike's mind, I have no idea, and am not sure I want to know.

Hrm... here's an interesting thought.

Mike: "Those... that wolf guy... wolf girl... is binding his chest! You've been messing with us this whole time! What, you wanted us to be scared of you?"

Keith: "What? No! I'm ... with the black magic ... and the ... er ..."

Mike: "You big faker! I can't believe you! Getting that poor girl to go along with your little ploy for power, trying to make us do what you want!"

Natani: "What's going on out there? *peeks out*"

Keith: "Now, wait just a minute! That wasn't my idea-"

Mike: "It sure looks like you're in charge to me!"

Keith: "Look, you don't tell anyone about this, okay? For some reason she doesn't want people knowing she's a woman! I don't understand why, and I don't want people scared of me, but Natani's important to me, and so if a couple people I'll never see again think I'm some dark wizard, I could care less! If it's important to Natani, then it's important to me, and you can just keep your mouth shut!"

Mike: "..."

Natani: "Keith ... you ... really feel that way?"

Keith: "Er... uh..." (thinks) /* Where *did* that come from? */

Perhaps the point is that they couldn't plausibly hold someone who doesn't want to be held. After all, it's generally just a small amount of resistance you want, anything more and things could get dangerous.

I think its distinctly more the former than the latter; the 'oh gods!' comment suggesting that he's thinking the worst... although I might add the possibility that he thinks Natani's 'transformation' is now PERMANANT, and must be covered up. A twisted way of getting close to the truth, isnt it? :twisted:

Still, the timing IS good for Natani to finally be outed... and it'll probably be sooner rather than later, given the end of the trip and the title of this chapter. I said something like this in a previous comic's commentary; it'd be somehow appropriate for the truth to be discovered with the end of the ship's voyage (during which everyone thought she'd be found out) literally in sight.


Not to put too fine a point on it, but there's probably far more... 'effective' means used even in the twokinds world to handle menses than wrapping thin strips of cloth 'round your crotch - that, and dont wolves simply reabsorb their womb's thickened lining after a heat instead of expeling it the way humans do? (Such a lovely mental-image creating topic...)

Moving on to something more pleasant... topless Natani! :) I can only wonder how she'd look with her winter coat; she doesnt appear noticably different in the winter layout picture of her, so I'm guessing Tom just hasnt designed it yet.

Plus, I just have to plug this before anyone else does: her first words? "the air is cold today". Think about it :D

As for Mike? I agree the black-tipped fur looks awesome; but you've also gotta love his expression. Poor guy seems to be perpetually shocked/stunned/scared...

EDIT: Now that I think about it, did Keith actually HEAR Mike's shocked words? Its not written as a thought bubble, and Keith's ears 'arent just for show' (too lazy to find the comic where this was stated). If he did and he's smart, Natani will show up with her forearms and/or paws wrapped combat-tape style... letting Mike go 'ohhhh!' But I dunno if that'll happen XD

ALSO: I dont know about Keidran clothing, but I dont think I've seen any of them with bras yet... could it be that keidran females use cloth wraps for the same purpose, such that it would be significant for a supposed 'male' to have them? (i.e. like finding a bra or panties in his stuff?)

I was thinking less pad and more tampon, but happily, I have never had to experience menses (great word, btw) without the benefit of modern conveniences, so I have no idea how women used to go about preventing their clothes from becoming horribly bloodied.

Women used to either go without or have more 'full shirt' type support garments... (think corsets and chemises) Except for Minoans four and a half millenia ago, the bra is a relatively recent invention - though I may or may not have noticed t-shirts, sweat shirts, hoodies, and jeans scattered throughout the world of 2kinds, so who knows what sort of clothes may or may not be available?

I quite agree, those stips of cloth are deffinetly ineficient at best for absorbing that kind of thing. And thank you SOOO much for that mental imagry :sarcastic smile: :sick smile:

I dunno. I think Mike believes that Keith has now injured Natani on top of changing "him" into a girl. By the way, any bets on Mike surviving a heart attack on an island FULL of Basitins?

Oh, gosh. Eric dragging Mike around the city on a leash, asking after Basitin mages who can change Mike into a fox girl ...

Mike: "Master Eric, please..."
Eric: "Oh, don't worry, Mike. You'll love being Michelle. I promise I'll be gentle."

Meanwhile, the Basitins are just laughing behind their hands at the silly human.

Later, Eric sighs that he couldn't find anyone.

Kat: *fidget* "Master Eric, if you want someone that badly... we could ... always..."
Eric: "Kat, I never want to treat you that way I treat these other slaves ... I've known you for too long."
Kat: "But ... what if ... if I ..."
Eric: "Hrm? What if what?"

That would be kinda funny, Eric running at full speed through the city with Mike trying to run the other way

Eric: "Come on, This way !"
Mike: "AHH, NO STOP !!!, ITS NOT POSSIBLE"

Meanwhile the gang's just watching, laughing histerically, cept for Kat who's got to be getting tired of Eric's ignorance to her feelings

How will Eric / Mike learn that Basitins don't have magic?
