I like it. Alaric has a love interest toward Keith. It's so amusing. Our big general is probably a dangerous pervert if we trust what we know about Basitin's laws. Lucky,him, there are always had a set of law for the rich and powerful and another for all the others. I ready to bet that if he rapes Keith in this bath everybody that notice will turn away and predent that they see nothing. Now Natani has something to worry about.

I don't think Alaric is a pervert. I think he's just playing around with Keith. He knows what drives Keith mad, and he just did it to get a reaction from him. That's what I think, anyway.

I see Alaric right now as a big brother to Keith (not in blood). Like Koi said, he just want to make him mad and because he knows him well.

Does anybody else get the feeling that this thing he wills how Keith in front of the castle involves Laura? First thing that hit my head after I read the comic.

I'm finding a rather disconcerting amount of myself in our Master General. He's such an amusing guy. And he obviously drives Keith nuts.

Maybe Keith's actually bi and trying to avoid it? I mean, that's not much of a tease, and Keith just seriously overreacts. And this has obviously gone on for years before Keith left too. Alaric knows how to play Keith like a fiddle. I'm actually going to change my views of Alaric. I'm now of the opinion that he and Keith were actually very close before Keith's exile, but Alaric always had that teasing personality and a bit of a nasty sense of humor. So with him in power, Keith's a bit worried, knowing the sorts of things Alaric considers funny, but despite that, Alaric would do anything for our Basitin hero. If my first statement in this paragraph is believed by Alaric, then he is going to have a field day when his myriad of spies report that Natani's jealous over this whole thing.

That may be a possibility, Av. I'm thinking more the general than Keith though, but it could be an and/or thing. Then again, Alaric may just be a tease (like my friend) and acts the part to mess with the standing traditions.

Basitin culture is starting to sound like Roman Culture (which was pre-Christian puritanism), in that it has strongly enforced taboos (one couldn't even satirize the gov't legally), a well established military, and a don't-ask-don't-tell policy on homosexuality, especially in the military (Greeks partook in gay sex fairly openly, while the Romans pretended it didn't exist).

Bastalin must have very sensative feet or something, like how the Ferangi have very sensative earlobes. Gentle touches to them might feel the same as stroking a woman's breast or something.

Feet in general are very sensitive, which is why bastinado and falaka were developed and feet are, for some individuals, erogenous zones.

I understand where Keith's comming from, he just doesn't know how to react. When you're up against a certain situation you don't know how to react, you could very well go crazy. Sorta like being pinned to a wall, you don't know what to do, so you wildly flail everything.
