well, i found something wrong early into the comic.
trace hears, "HELP!" in the first panel of the second page of the comic. when he runs up, its the guy, threatening to kill flora. so you would think he knows flora can talk. but its not until a few pages later, that he realizes she could talk. that doesnt make much sense.

(i searched around the forum, and i think there is no topic like this. if there is, then i would like a link)

That isnt a comic bug-- Trace might not think "who cried for help?" -- you know lots of humans from different countries can yell the english word help-- it could have been anyone-- you dont know nor do you find out-- would you really care who called for help as long as you were able to?

Once again someone posts another thing like this-- Theres more than one way of looking at things-- stop trying to twist them how you want it to look. If Trace doesnt think "huh who yelled for help?" then obviously he was too busy thinking "who the heck am I?" and "Holy crap this cute girl is in danger!"

um... sort of, i would help, but i have to know who to help...

and if he heard "help" screamed in a girl's voice, and ran up and saw someone with a sword walking towards the girl, he might know she can talk!

and yes, it could have been anyone who yelled help, but the odds that the girl about to be killed was the one yelling it, are pretty high.

*edit, oh and i wasn't trying to twist things into how i want it! i wanted a reason, for why its like the way it is.

Umm... not much to say, really.....

Yeah, If I heard a cry for help (especially a female or child), I'd run to see what I could do. If what I find is a non-human being attacked, I'd probably not assume that the non-human was what I heard. I'd probably still try to help said non-human, especially if it was clothed, simply because I don't like seeing creatures suffer (even if I intend to kill the creature myself). I'd be like Trace and think 'What is this girl, anyway?' I might not assume that she could talk, or even think on the same level as a human.

Also, Trace does not indicate that he actually understood the word 'help.' Maybe, while lost in thought, all he heard was a sound of distress and the actual word didn't register. But, then, this is just supposition.
