Either Tom truly doesn't know whether Natani as a female or male, or he really loves to confuse people.

You can argue that the character in the comic doesn't truly know that Natani is a girl, but shouldn't there be a scent that Flora could pick up? Surely she must know how to tell female from male from her own race.

As it comes from a regular forum goer, I have no way of telling if this is true. Until it's actually in the comic that there was a translation problem, I can't reasonably believe it, so this is another fact towards the fact that Natani could be male.

But.... the contract is off" The fact that "to kill us" is there, leads me to believe that it's Flora talking in that panel, and she says "him" once again. I have trouble believing that Flora couldn't tell her mother from her father.



Flora should be able to tell, cloak or not, by scent, and Keith should be the same. Trace I might understand, but still, it's not like the cloak covers up that much. Shouldn't Keith be able to feel them too in that last comic? :D

Tom also says he's not sure whether Natani is boy or girl on devient art. I'm not sure if it's a joke or not, as it's rather hard to figure out tone of voice when you're reading something, so I'm just taking the words as they are written.

I'm not saying all of this to poke holes in the story or anything, it's just that someone I talked to today thought Natani was a boy. She hadn't read the forums, like most of the people who read the comic, and I had to point it out the link in the forum before she agreed, but not without the above mentioned arguments. I just want something to be put in the comic or on the comic page that flatly states that Natani is a girl/boy.

Perhaps Males and females don't have the same scent? You can't just assume such things. Also, they're from different tribes, I think. Flora probably knows the scents of tiger keidran better than wolf keidran.Sage said that this was so, and Sage knows almost as much about Twokinds as Tom does. XDWhat the hell does this have to do with Flora's parents? XD Natani is completely covered, and as I said before, we don't know that the scent of a male and female is that different.It's a joke. :PIt's been said over and over by both Tom and Sage that Natani is a girl. Seriously, how much explanation os really needed? >_< And it'll be in the comic when it is needed. So just wait for Tom to get to it, and quit bothering people. XD

Sorry I didn't clarify, but this wasn't supposed to be about the average forum goer, but rather towards the average comic reader, most of whom have no idea who Sage is. I don't normally visit the forums, and all I know is that Sage is a mod that likes Azumanga on her avatar.

People who don't read the forum have never even heard it. Yes, explanation is needed.

If it bothers you, don't read it.

Natani's gender is part of the plot. At this point in time, it's not important for the reader to know what her gender is, because it's something that will be revieled in the story. Obviously, the characters in the comic believe Natani to be a male. Whether this is true or not is the whole point of the story. So wait and see like everyone else. Like any other part of the plot, just because you want to know, doesn't mean you should expect to get the answer right away.
