Here’s the scenario:

You have lived your life exactly as you have currently except now Keidran have for some reason popped into existence. They as of yet, have no rights (otherwise regarded as animals). You take one into your home and care for it.

*How would you treat your new Keidran? Would you be able to fall in love with one? (Honestly and truthfully based on the events of your life)

Personally I would treat it just like a pet, but not a servant (I tried a servant before and it didn't work). As a pet owner I know that I am kind but strict, but I would never be able to fall in love with one though.

I know that this will be a touchy subject and that I will be accused of racist but what the hell I can't change the way I was raised... without the existence of Keidran.

Nope. I've already got a sweet little lass, and I think I'll keep this one. Unless, there's a hypothetical situation where my wife-to-be isn't in existence? Then I'd have to ponder over it. Especially the sudden 'popping into existence' thing.

Yeah I thought that I should add this, the scenario excludes all current existing human partners (existing Keidran or other species are exempt)

Charge 'em rent and provide meals. Maybe hang out if we get along.

The way I see it,. if this happened, I'd just treat 'em as equals. But love? Nah. I think love is a sorta "stay in your species" sorta deal.

Hmm, an intriguing situation I suppose. I assume that I'd first ask a bunch of questions, that is - if the Keidran understood English. I wouldn't treat the Keidran as a pet, since it would be a lil' weird. I mean, I was uncomfortable when we use to have a maid. I was always like, "Hey, can I help you with something." I just wasn't use to it.

Come to think of it, I did date this high-price girl once who was very much the pampered princess type. No offense to her, but she was rather selfish and was really the kind to have everything served to her on a silver platter. She probably would have taken in 20 Keidran to serve her and she likely wouldn't have respected them in any way.

On another note, I believe the current American society system would view such practices negatively. I wouldn't imagine many would treat Keidran as slaves despite the legal rights portion of the scenario. If there were, it would be a small percentage in my estimation.

As far as a deeper relationship? It would never get past the friendly mark. I dunno. The whole thing would just be strange, and I'd have to go with the flow.

im actually not sure. i wouldnt keep one as a slave, and im not sure about one being a pet. it would be weird to have a pet 2 times your size(well in my case anyway, im small). and if it was a female, i dont know if i would be able to handle them when there in heat 0.o.... and i would never get something that can talk back to you spayed (some may not be aware, to get a female animal spayed, means you make it so they cant have babies). so haveing them as a pet is out. i think i could fall in love with a keidren though, even if i couldnt, i still couldnt resist to touch that fur :) .

oh, and keidren could really help you with art. i mean think about it, its a naked model, just not as uncomfortable cause there is fur.

Due to my lack of a heart I wouldn't be able to love the Keidran, but due to to how they are like humans in virtually everyway (except for appearance and some personality traints) and still dont get any humane right I would protect her as if I was her. And anyone who I see treating ANY Keidran harshly wont live past that moment.

Wasnt there a comic about something like this? Like some people suddenly changing over night and people saw them as monsters and stuff?

What is with Americans and nudity? Are the films true do you all sleep fully clothed? Why is everyone so scared of nudity?

And yes Sage I know what the point Two Kinds and Yosh is, this is a hypothetical debate about how the comic has affected its readers.

Lots of people are scared of nudity - because we all know nudity leads to sex and sex is bad... Like back in school whenever we had a nude model the class turns into one big sex orgy -- omg-- what is that stuff dripping all over the place? OOOH!! It must be sarcasm!!!

If sex was bad then your parents are horrible horrible people! To think if they hadnt done that horrible thing you wouldnt be here! (well maybe thats not a good point since i think we would be better off if some of yall wouldnt be here <_< >_> not pointing any fingers or anything... *Points at a bunch of people* ... <_< >_> )

As for sleeping-- lots of people in the US sleep nude or in their underwear-- we all dont wear those big pajamas to bed... some of us toss and turn while sleeping and a pair of baggy pajamas is a good way to cut the circulation off to your legs and arms... or around your neck...

Point is-- this poll isnt going to work out well -- a lot of people here are furries and all of them are going to think nothing of it-- not how real people would think -- I put a lot of work into the history for what happened in Yosh and got a lot of feedback from questions simular to this and used other events to decide how it would probably happen.

People dont easily accept extreme changes. If all of a sudden Keidrans apeared the majority of the world would see them as monsters and want them destroyed-- several groups would pop up wanting to study them, others would want to protect them -- Either way its chaos - many of them would die- many more would be shunned -- and many of them wouldnt trust the ones that wanted to help them.

The question "Could you fall in love with" isnt a good one -- no one can really say they would or could-- love doesnt always happen that way and just about everyone knows that. Many of the people who say yes are just going off of their fantasy-- not what they would really do-- and that should be the focus -- What would you do to help them or hurt them or learn from them?

Maybe so, but you are taking this too seriously. The question was only meant to reflect on how people would react personally, not how the world would react.

And by the way check my avatar... Yes in cyber space I am a furry, but in RL I'm a human... sort of... well thats not the point.

People are people in RL and all I wanted to know is how they think that they'd feel. So what if people live in a fantasy world, all I wanted was an insight. You have just admitted to asking this sort of question before, let other people try.



Yeah but these are people with no self dignity or self control. I could go on for hours insulting these people but needless to say that they should not have human rights.

(I am very sorry for this modification post but in this country these people are becoming a problem) I have to put up with random err mating calls (as far as my studies of them can ascertain), from these people every time a female of their species walks by. Yes I don't count them as humans, maybe a sub-species of some sort. (Racist? Maybe. Good reason for it? Definitely)

Why do you argue with anything that I say?

My answer to the topic's question is no. Love is not an emotion I can feel.
